I don't have SolidWorks 2020 so I can't access the file & if you're in the same boat what you can do to practice your SolidWorks modeling is try to recreate the part or find one that's similar & add your own configurations/equations

What do you think about Splitting the body then move/copy then combine, never having to use surfacing except for a zero offset surface for the split?

Hi Lucas, really appreciate you for posting such wonderful tutorials. I am preparing for my CSWP exam now, and these videos are really helping me. Your videos are short and to the point. So, each minute of your video is an opportunity to learn something new. At 3:38, adding two lines parallel to the construction line was, I believe, dimensioned wrong. Because the dimension 30mm is given on the front view on the drawing, so if you draft this model, you'll get a different measurement. It would be better to either dimension the endpoints of the parallel line (vertically), or my approach is to create a Swept Boss/Base profile and path.
@SolidworksLucas3 ай бұрын
good catch, however the 30mm is given on the section view C-C which already accounts for the angle. Unless I am missing something let me know!

You may need to constrain an angle on one pulley and have a driven angle on the other, and record how the driven angle changes based on changing the constrained angle. Hopefully that made sense. Just took the test yesterday

Thank you for the great series on CSWP. I am preparing to enter the exam in a few weeks. I am having an issue with the equations in configurations. I have created two configurations. A and B. A simple block with a hole. If I suppress the hole it works fine. A has the hole, B does not. My problem is that if I make the block 100mm long in the equations for A, and 50mm for B, both configurations change to the last size that was entered into the eqautions. In the example of the part in your video, I see that the size changes when switching between A & B. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

When you change the dimensions, make sure that "this configuration" is selected from the dropdown menu to the right of the value. I realize I did not make this explicit in the video.
