Welcome to 360 Explorers !
We are Sam, Sofia and Stella (The ADORABLE Border Collie). Join us as we traverse the vast landscapes of Australia in our off-road caravan. From the rugged coastlines to the expansive outback, we delve deep into the heart of the Land Down Under.
Join us for some epic fishing adventures, camping under the starlit skies, and savoring Australia's flavors with our on-the-go cooking sessions.
Our set up is a Ford Ranger (tinnie on the roof), towing a semi-off road Jayco Starcraft. We previously travelled 6 months with our old fully off-road Caravan (Mars 15 Premium) which we traded in for our Jayco.

Keep up the great work guys
Thanks Julie :)
Snakes!.....................I don't know how you did it!............................I couldn't handle it....................I would die!
It did get a bit questionable at times. But it was so worth it in the end! Thank you for the comment :)
Another great vid guys. El Questro looks great. Looking forward to The Gibb part 2.
Thanks Craig. Appreciate it 👍
Those patterns on the trees are from bark/wood beetles
Thanks Shane, just read up about it. That’s insane.
@@360-Explorers yeah they make some cool patterns
thank you
Thank you!
The tray for the weber is to spread the heat over the top instead of just hitting the bottom. Well worth it.
Yes and it works pretty well. Thanks for the comment !
No caravan park is worth $72 to park up. We stayed at the free camp at the dam spillway between the highway and caravan park. Your right the homestead is a must visit, and it the story of it being moved is amazing.
Thanks Wayne, yes some of these prices are becoming outrageous. With that and its getting booked out, so I don't see them gettig any lower. We didn't know this place existed, it was reccomended by someone on the road, and we're glad we made the visit! It's all new to us in WA
@360-Explorers you learn so much from talking with other travellers. We were the same as you and hadn't heard of places until talking with someone. My wife is constantly looking at paper maps and researching of Google for places and what there is to see and do there, and what there is in-between. Paper maps show so much more than what online does.
That’s true. We just picked up a book of hard maps from BCF. It’s crazy how much you can miss. We’ve missed a lot we are going to try taking our time in places now
@360-Explorers if you have the time slow down and research on Google, it will change your trip and you will see things that you have never heard of.
Discovered you guys yesterday searching for reviews on Mars hybrid vans etc. Was quite taken by the website walkthrough of the Elite, it’s lowish price and the red, white and black colour scheme … yes, I’m a St Kilda footy tragic lol. Had no idea about the weight issues that you have highlighted so thanks heaps for that. I find your style refreshing and passionate and most of all, honest. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Brad! Yes, we were misled by the website and brochure with weights. The service particularly let us down. But it is what it is I suppose. Hopefully, our expensive lesson can save someone else. haha I am a Carlton supporter, so i feel you!
the prob wsith steaks wasn't 2 in air fryer it wsas because the were frozen and 4 mins each isn't enough i cook 2 thawed foe 5 mins each side after heating the fryer for 13 mins first perfect every time
We usually throw 1 steak in from frozen! 4-5 minutes each side and it’s perfect medium rare. First time we tried 2. But yes I reckon preheat would have worked! Give it a go from frozen. It’s only for when we decide last minute to have steak.
Litchfield is the best. Your right Blueys is the best. Did the fish in Florence nibble on your feet? Don't joke about crocs at Wangi, they regularly pull crocs out of it. Hopefully you visited the Lost City and the old homestead while you were there. That was awesome of the caravan park to check on Stella while your out, do they charge for that?
Unfortunately, we missed out on the Lost city and the homestead. With all the swimming we wanted to get back to Stella. Feeling a little guilty without her lol. Leaving a few things for when we come back. They don’t charge for it which was nice, and the fish were huge and didn’t get any nibbles thankfully from the fish or the crocs…. Hahaha
Lower tyre pressures would of definitely helped on that soft sand. Don be afraid to take it down to 12-15 psi it will make a world of difference. Also try high range I find my hilux likes high over low on soft sand. Beautiful spot for breakfast shame the fish didn’t want to play the game
Hey Shane, oh yeah I’ll keep that in mind for next time! Thank you! Yeah would have been lovely for a catch and cook. Hopefully can get a few good fish soon, it’s been a while
@@360-Explorers all us fisherman go through our stages of not catching anything, hopefully your luck turns around with fishing Loving the videos, I wish I could do the big trip it’s just not the right time at them moment, so I’m just living it through your videos
@@shanemcmullen239 well that’s it mate. I really hope we’re doing it justice. Hopefully that time swings around much sooner for you. Thanks for the comment mate. Any questions about the lap feel free to get in touch and we’ll chat
It's good eating
Some of then locals said so! Sof says she couldn’t do it. Didn’t look appetising apparently lol
@360-Explorers I can't remember what the locals call them, something cobbler. I ate them with the owners of the old Zebra rock mine, and wow I wouldn't of thought that catfish could taste as good as they did.
Gotta love a catch and release ❤
Hundred percent ❤️
$6000-7000 for a 12 volt battery system wow….must be rolled gold for that money. I have a 105 am lithium battery box with DCDC and a 2000 watt inverter for just under $2k. Can I ask if you bought the Bluetti or is it provided to review?
Yeah mate that was down in Melbourne, no doubt it would been super neat and tidy. But still. Lot of money. Portable options are great. Bluetti got in touch and sent us this to use and review and use it on the road! For some honest feedback.
Dundee Beach is an amazing spot. Drop your tyre pressures lower, it really helps. I start at 15psi on our landcruiser, and can end up as low as 10psi. You do need to go easy on the turns with low pressure or you will debead a tyre.
We loved it! Wish we could have gotten the van in for some beach camping! Would have been superb. I’m happy the ranger found a way out. Will need to play around with pressures now as we are heading to the west coast via the Gibb. I’m looking for some tyre deflators for easier deflating option
@360-Explorers I just use an old fashion valve tool and remove the valve core and guess when I'm close to the pressure I want, you get close after doing it a few time's. Then just use a pencil gauge to adjust it exactly, I like simple things that I don't have to adjust or that will break. We dropped our pressures by 50% when doing the Gibb, so from 50psi to 25psi. Just remember to drop your speed when running lower pressure's and stop regularly to let the tyre's cool down. We stopped about every 30-40 minutes, had a good look around at everything, even inside the van. If something has moved it's best to find it before it does any damage. We never went over 80kph on the Gibb, at time's we could of walked faster. It's great watching your adventure and remembering where we have been. Thanks for sharing.
That’s what we are using now. I’m sticking with it now because it’s been good. That’s a great tip thank you. We might go to 20. And just take it easy. Bit nervous but should be right. We appreciate all your comments mate and I just hope we’re doing these awesome places justice with our filming.
@@360-Explorers stick with what works for you. Your filming is great.
Drop tyre pressures to 15 / 18 psi for beach driving
Yeah we might have to on the softer sand from now. Never been that low but it would have helped I reckon.
whats with the left hand drive car
Hello, I believe it may be the camera angle which portrays differently. Definitely, a Right hand drive. lol
Stop driving while holding the camera!
Hey mate, Would love to know which scene this was?
Do you mean stop filming while the car is moving?? If not, Sofia was in the passenger side filming , then Sam was in the passenger side filming. Anyway, all good , thanks for sharing your travels, guys better luck on the rod next time, Samy boy 🤙🍻👍 Cheers
Thanks legend! Yeah it must look I was driving in the end or something. Thanks for the comment. Appreciate it ❤️
Darwin is amazing. We went there for 4 day's thinking we would see it all, lol. 6 weeks later we forced ourselves to leave, Darwin is one place that we will return to.
Hey Wayne, yes it was a little bit different from where we have been so far. Interesting place, the weather was perfect and there is a lot to do! Territory day was insane! Great to experience it
@@360-Explorers yes Territory Day brought back a lot of memories for me, I still miss cracker night. We were invited back to a roadhouse just outside of Kakadu that we made friends with the owners for Territory Day, wow ended up being a huge weekend. We were amazed with just how much there was to see in and around Darwin. Thanks for sharing your adventure, and looking forward to the next episode.
How was Stella with the fireworks 🧨 Great Episode 🦘😎👍🧨🧨
Hello :) She was fine up until they were set off 20 metres away from her and then she was a little on edge and preferred to stay in the caravan with dog tv playing lol then she was fine :)
Pro tip: Batteries are either good or bad-no middle ground. If it goes down to 9V, throw it away and get another one. Yes, you can charge it, and yes, it will work for a bit longer. But can you rely on it anymore? NOPE! Don't waste your time; just buy another one. Also, get your alternator checked. A low battery is why you were experiencing strange electrical issues, like the car thinking you're out of fuel.
That’s a great tip. Because I thought I could save this one and it gave us a lot of dramas. Once it was changed over. We never worried about it! Thanks for the comment :)
I checked out their office in Sydney. They could'nt even get off their chairs to talk to me & the one who did couldn't be bothered to demonstrate anything. That impression was enough to put me off the brand. If they treated me like how would they behave if I had issues afterwards.
Yes, they were nice to us. Up until we went to pick up the van. Then they didn’t really care. But we were too excited to worry about it lol.
U guy's should buy a ticket to win something to buy new car and Caravan...by the way were was Stella... ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Haha yes that would be nice :) Stella was in the car. Only place for her to be unfortunately. We decided car was safer than the caravan anyway.
What sort of vehicle do you have? I notice it is left hand drive.
@@martinfinn674 Hey Martin, It’s a Ford ranger, right hand drive. Might be the camera angle maybe.
Hey, yeh we were going to say the same thing, we thought you'd swapped cars because of the right hand drive .... 😂 Stella is beautiful by the way. We have a tri-colour named Loki, he goes nuts when he sees Stella on the screen 😂😂
Hey guys, what time of year were you up there?
@@justincredible1473 hey Justin, we set off in October so it was fairly quiet on the roads.
Great episode. Stella could have sat on the floor of the track. I am glad you are back on the road again Safe Travels. And on to your next adventure.😎🦘🏕️🍻🍹
Thank you! I know we tried to negotiate with the driver. But it’s health and safety protocol. We were a little concerned about her being in the car but gladly it worked out. Hopefully won’t have to do it again for a while. Thanks for the comment Paul ☺️
@360-Explorers so, health & safety bollocks for dog but you had no seatbelt?
Tell me about it. If there was any other choice we would had done it. Let’s hope we don’t have to do it again!! Thanks for the comment
Ohh guys what a roller coaster ride!!!!! Keep smiling and thanks for bringing us along. Mataranka is only an hour from Kathrine and is worth the 2 hr detour if yous have the time. Looking forward to seeing you guys explore the west coast - Olliesonodyssey 🤙
Hi Jay, So nice to hear from you. Thanks for the comment. we are soo excited about the West coast and yes we might do a drive down to Mataranka and Bitter springs. Maybe a day trip from Katherine. Hope you and the family are doing well ❤️
13:49 did you fart ?
I don’t think so? There were a few ducks around - Sam

So sorry that such a lovely couple has had such a hard time. Thank you for having the strength to share your adventures despite all the adversity. 🥰
I know! What a crazy world we live in hey! Hahaha thank you for the comment Jay. We appreciate it ❤️
Good drone footage Glad it all worked out well ❤
Thank you for the comment ❤️
Glad the ranger was sorted without to much of a problem. Our NRMA roadside assistance had an extra that we took out for transport and accommodation for our dog in the event that we have a breakdown and our dog can't travel in the tow truck or stay with us. Can't remember the exact cost but was $40 something, well worth it I think. Daly Waters is an amazing place. Great place to breakdown, but was probably boring after 3 day's. Now for the water, get use to struggling to get water while travelling up north. You really learn how to minimise your water usage. Cheers for sharing another great episode.
Thanks Wayne. Water is something we’re still learning to use minimal of. I’ve noticed it’s a bit of a skill. So we bought some 20L bladders to fill up for extra water. You know, we met a guy with the same problem and was towed with a hire car accommodation and repairer. Because we were RACQ we were only entitled to the tow. And the person we met was RACV…. And they’re cheaper. So I might renew with RACV but I might also look into NRMA now. Thanks for that. 👍
@360-Explorers just phone around and find what works best for you. Remember to look at worst case scenario as that's when you need the insurance. NRMA has always worked for us with what they offer even though they are NSW based and we live in SA. We also only just learnt about the pet cover extra this week, we had never considered it, and thankfully it was a good NRMA consultant that my wife was talking to that asked if we travel with a pet. Pays to phone occasionally and have a chat about their products to make sure you have what best suits your type of travel.
You poor buggers. Hopefully all the troubles will be behind you now.
Hectic trip guys, ya handled it well. Always look on the bright side n ya got the ute fixed up in a day, we’ll done 🍺
Thanks Geoff, appreciate your support. Yes it’s just one of those things you’ve gotta do.
At least clean your side windows to see in your mirrors.
Yes, we did eventually when we had enough water. Thank you for the comment :)
Where is " Ulara" ? I thought you were visiting Uluru? How embarrassing.???
Hey Jason, Yulara is the town close to Uluṟu which a lot of travellers usually stay at to visit Uluṟu. It’s about 20km away and they have a caravan park, fuel, shops etc.
What a comment by Jayco... er, we dont know what bearings we put in your van??? Seriously?
Yes, weren’t very helpful. They use 2-3 different kinds so I pulled em off and got the numbers so hopefully can pick up some spares soon!
New subscriber here...just watched this video and enjoyed it...i will try and watch more...keep em coming.
Thanks Matt. Appreciate the support!!
i stayed there about 2weeks ago
28 bucks for an unpowerd site is very steep
I thought so too, but that’s the way things are looking these days I think.
great video
Thanks! Appreciate it Robo
Each video gets better Doing well guys ❤
Thank you so much! We appreciate it!
I’m loving this video
Hi guys enjoying your travels. Try tying a string to the inside handle and attatch it on the outside of the door then pull on it and you are in.
Yes, It''s getting to that point, we might have to do something. We wouldn't be able to lock it then to leave for a few hours. someone can pull our string lol
@@360-ExplorersThe door has to be unlocked before it can be opened from the inside.
@@Dgaardy oh yes thats right, might have a go sooon! Thank you
Don't know what your thoughts are, but mine were that the rock is over rated and a rip off. Hopefully you visit Kings Canyon, it really is amazing. It's so much better than the rock!
It's nice. But yes very expensive. They might start charging you to breathe in the near future. hahaha We have done kings canyon a few years ago, yes we loved it!
WOW, that was a lot of mud! Glad you got in after the handle broke off! Good idea to carry extra bearings, don't forget the tools and the grease. 🤙
Good call! I have just pulled a couple off and got the numbers so I can buy some spares! and some grease of course. Thank you for the comment
@@360-Explorers By tools, I meant the seal puller for the rear seal. You should also get a common easy to find grease. You don't want to mix different types.
Just read a forum post where they paid $91 for an unpowered site at El Questro !! We are heading up to Darwin shortly & as an example, Kings Canyon campground/CP is around $60 unpowered and so it goes on. In the big scheme of things, $28 aint so bad. 🤨
Jeez, $91 is crazy! We have heard kings canyon is expensive but we missed it. In Darwin, check out Coolalinga or Robbie Robbin’s reserve for reasonable pricing.
don't you have a bed in the van
Yes,we have a bed, how come?
@@360-Explorers you looked like you were enjoying lying on the ground under the van and you showed it a couple of times. Ha Ha
@@johnpitt2742 hahahaha you’re not wrong mate! I’ll also be under the car today which isn’t ideal. But all part of the game
i paid $48 for a tent site 30 years ago for a tent site at philip island and that was after he gave us a discount when i told him he won the prize for the dearest camp sit on the east coast
Hey John, that’s extreme for 30 years ago. Can you imagine what they’re charging now…. It’s getting ridiculous.
How is your roller rocker suspension going on the dirt tracks. We have the same suspension, and you hear its ok, its not ok for such tracks. We want to do lap next year, and travel all the iconic road's We will also travel with our dog By the way, like your channel, realistic and honest.
Thank you for the comment mate we appreciate it! We have the J tech suspension which are shocks.. no leaf springs. They go alright, not amazing because the van does rattle a fair bit. But we want to do the Gibb river road and we’re still iffy. I’ve heard good things about the roller rocker with leaf springs. If you take it easy I reckon we should be alright. Mate, doing the lap is the best thing ever! Let me know if you ever have questions
You should be called "Wogs in the Bush"please don't take it the wrong way... By the way U need to start wearing your seat beat and yes your dog should have one on all the time even if it is a short way incase a animals runs out and you hit the brakes she gets hurt...U would never forgive yourself... Wood bag hanging to low so it has been hitting road... Thanks for bread idea would be nice with herbs init or pepper... Yes U can make a net for Stella with elastic measure head to collar with some room then get elastic thread it throw to stop flies attacking her...also she needs air on her in the back seat... I hope U show us Coper pede place U are at now...stay in a below accomidation it would be so cool... Were are U guys from Melb or Syd...???❤❤❤I hope U get your door handle...
Hahaha yes if I don’t wear my seat belt you’ll hear the car beeping crazy at me. The wood bag has been sitting there for 5 months with no issue but the rocks from the Oodnadatta track ripped it and therefore it started hanging lower than usual, so we’ll get a replacement soon hopefully. The underground caves in Cooberpedy were wonderful and cool but to stay there you’ll need a tent or swag. I’m from Melbourne, Sofia originally from WA and came across to Victoria :) Thanks for watching
