Fantastic singer and pianoist . Not as well known as a top blues singer probably because he was in muddy waters band and muddy was the front man. To me otis is one of my favourite blues artists. He will never be forgotten.

I love the concept of the song title! 9 times out of 10 you have to suffer to be inspired to write good blues lyrics. The blues don't like nobody b/c you have to suffer to make the blues and you have to suffer to truly appreciate the blues (9times out of 10).

Oh man, I honestly feel like he’s a cold psychotic killer who really is going to kill. And if you do anything about it, he’ll kill you too. No other version of this song captures that kind of feeling. It’s exceptional

I looooove this clip! If I could only show someone 1 video to personify the blues, this is it. The raw talent, the ease, the 2 ashtrays and guitar on top of the piano... absolutely perfect.

Moe, buddy, I worked on this. It was made in Toronto, Canada at CBC, 1966. Not in the U.S. - We sold a license for re-release of these performances to Rhino Records, contained in their release ("The Blues Masters".) I sat-in for the producer and directed the re-mastering of both the video and audio: that same producer oversaw most of the problematic transfers from CBC's original 2" masters to a digital 1" in 1996, also at CBC. CBC still has some digital master of those original transfers and there is so, so much more than the 12-13 songs culled from an embarrassment of musical wealth still awaiting release. There were many folks involved, most with far more experience than myself, so I apologize for any naked "personal pronouns."

Was this used in any movies or TV shows, because it sounds so familiar. Anyways, I love this song and these two guys go together so well. I feel like if you put one of them with a different guy, even if they played the exact same song it just wouldn’t sound right. Something like musical soulmates I guess haha.
