Yeah, well, I wish they'd put university students, and teachers through the same process. We wouldn't have to be putting up with the academia trash, sniveling moral, and intellectual weaklings that they are being produced now! BTW, this is not a Commencement Address. It is a "Graduation" address; hence the mortar boards, and gowns.

Am I the only one who thinks he'd make a great President? I mean this speech alone should get him a consideration. He's inspiring, smart, served his country on the front lines as a navy seal. Has intimate knowledge of how the military works. Yet is he still kind and compassionate to everyone regardless of gender or race. He has a strong sense of morals and character, always wishing to help. He doesn't show favoritism to either side of the political spectrum. As he himself said he's "dead center" on the political line. Both Bush and Obama respect him. And I could go about his numerous awards and qualifications. But yeah, in my opinion. William McRaven should be Commander and Chief

I've suffered from bad MDD for all my life. And I've been impressed by McRaven's "make your bed" speech. However, as I listen further, my depression worsens. Because his roadmap requires social support. Along with a lotta other isolated and aging ppl with intractable MMD (and with it, pretty much all the doors of opportunities are permanently closed), we do not have adequate social support. Worse, our robotic Mental Health Machine has few options for ppl who call a crisis line. THe most immoral thing about "Mandatory Reporting" (I know, I've had cops knocking on my apartment door on three occasions) is that it is a legalistic escape. I've never had the person who initiatiated that process ever call me back to check in on me. So, essentially, it outsources responsibility in an open-loop way. The initiator is temporarily inconvenienced by the caller's distress, but by the press of a button, the problem is solved, as far as our crappy MHM is concerned. Indeed, it is an empathy-eliminator. Rah rah, US health care. Because just about everyone I know has adequate social support and those in the system cannot even picture the desperate reality of those of us with none. Yeah, mandatory reporting is useful in many contexts. But it can facilitate suicides in those desperate cases, because it's the MHM's way of rejecting people. Rah, Rah, US Health Care. Sadly, the MHM teaches the desperate not to bother with these counter-productive options next time, because they are painful and can worsen already bad situations.

You know you have achieved greatness if you’re a Fleet Admiral like Admiral, McRaven. Sir, Thank you so,so much for your service. I hold awareness that you were recently honourably discharged from Duty, at a rank that so few sailors earn. If I was with you, I’d 1000% salute, you. I’m a Naval Avaitor who is a Captain, with to MoHs, to my name. However, I will never get to your level. Those stars, on your boards, were hard-earned. Before I was commissioned, with the class of 2031, from the United States Naval Activity, I was at the top of my class. With the rank of 1; Valedictorian, status. Even though, I came from a service academy, I will always respect you, even if you did come from UT’s NROTC. I have the understanding, that you wear the double gold reeves, with pride, happiness and honor. Better than that, you’re an officer, with the gold strap. You also have one hell of a large service record, with, 80+ decorations. Before I made ENS, when I was still a kid, I had great, GREAT, respect for people like you. I had respect for service members, even when I was a lone wolf. I’d thank every, service members, for the service, and I’d say, especially to war vets ‘ Without you, the Stars and Stripes, would crumble.’ Or ‘ You make this country INCREDIBLE.’ Same goes for you, sir. I will always salute you. Now that you’re a veteran, enjoy retirement. People with four stars, who earn that rare rank, (Bear in mind, for all of you: Not everyone earns Admiral, or General, within their careers. If you don’t make it, before retirement, that does NOT make you less of a person, you still are incredible. Just know, there are only 100 active duty Admirals and Generals, serving in the Armed Forces. You NEED to be appointed by the President. You need to be appointed in the first place to become an O1, in the first place, by the President. Not all earn the stars. I’m somehow due in 8 years, to earn a star. The reason why that is, every job requires to serve a certain amount, even if base is 5-8. This could include anywhere from a decade, to 30 or 40, years. Every rank has their measurement. Once it’s hit, you’re done. There are certain exceptions: Your dependent, is a Sophomore, and if the circumstances really allow it, they will keep you in, until he or she, crosses that stage and earns, the diploma. This is rare.) deserve it, You have gone through hell, on earth, and made it out alive, with a rank so few achieve. Congratulations sir, on an incredible service. -Captain Harry ‘OrderPhoenix’ Weasley, Doris Miller (CVN 81), United States Navy. P.S. Keep on, conquering, having a successful marriage, giving speeches about the Navy, and your time in service. Enjoy your retirement. Most of all, Keep being the incredible king, Admiral, Husband, and man that you always are. I will always, salute you.
