Pour ceux que le langage a désertés

Score videos, mainly contemporary and early music, and some music albums from around the world.

« Je ne sais plus Monsieur. Je crois qu'il faut laisser un verre aux morts… [...] Un petit abreuvoir pour ceux que le langage a désertés. Pour l'ombre des enfants. Pour les états qui précèdent l'enfance. Quand on était sans souffle. Quand on était sans lumière. »

some of the notes for the Cantus part have a flat above them when in fact they are singing a natural, for example, bar 156, the Cantus are singing an E natural, yet the music has a flat written above the note..... but great video

My favorite part is the Last one. I think it is the Best written part. And something i could memorize. And finally, repetition. Other movements are ok, the call and response of the choir and soprano are also good.

I read years ago that Stravinsky described Boulez as sounding "like ice cubes clinking in a glass." Not sure if he meant a compliment. That always stuck with me, a beautiful and apropos image of Boulez' wonderful music.

Aspects of this astonishing piano work are akin to the multilayered 'musics' in Luciano Berio's "Sequenza IV." Even if not intended by the composer, the notational layout almost inspires a certain amount of 'liberty' to be taken with the score... I personally would not do that unless the impetus to such liberties (or encouragement of them) is clearly laid out in the prefatory notes or within the score itself. Some other commenters here have specified certain inaccuracies in the performance, which I certainly cannot dispute both for (1) insufficient familiarity with this piece and (2) not keeping track of every note as the piece progresses. Thank you for posting this.. I love it and if I had more time remaining in life, I'd try to learn it. 🙂
