Such a great series! I'm currently reading Jade City which is great. I heard that the next two books in the trilogy are even better!

What about the history of using lead in gasoline? Science took a long time to get it out, because of denial by the industry...

To me, this story contains the greatest main character of any media in existence. I don't know of any other that sacrifices as much as Tau does to achieve his goals. That alone places him in a tier above the rest. The fact that the plot, pace, and tone keeps up with the characters is just another reason this series is incredible. Having a great main character sometimes means they outshine the rest of the book, but that's not the case here. Everything is in perfect balance to support and signal the various stages of Tau's development. The cost and reward, cause and consequence, fear and love. It's just an amazing read and the first book I ever read that gave me an adrenaline rush. 10/10

Manhattan the city sleeps Selene DeSilva walks her dog along the banks of the Hudson. She is alone just the way she lives it. She doesn't believe in friends and she doesn't speak to her family. It wasn't a bewitched personality or withdrawn, maybe a vampire of sorts. Delivery of Documents to the Clerk's Office - Supreme Court of the United States

Alastair is my favorite modern author. I wish he would write more about the Rust Belt and maybe a series on the colony ships to Sky's Edge? Sky's life on the ship was crazy. Pushing Ice is mind blowing.

Oh so this was 1 month before the US Election, so it was recorded October 2020, in place of the '1 year' as posted by KZread. New Climate War by Michael E Mann and Ministry of The Future were both published between Nov 2020 and Jan 2021

“Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence.” -- Star Trek‘s Bones McCoy Aurora brings this point home poignantly and originally. The ship and its voyagers -- their trials, tribulations and adaptation, their need for belief and search for meaning and connectedness, and ultimate inability to achieve their dreams of mastery over the universe - is a microcosm of man's eternally longing and search for meaning. Aurora is about the harsh reality and tragic human consequences of interstellar space travel. And yet human history and prehistory that has accompanied all forms of progress is overlayed with incomprehensible human struggle, tragedy and death.

Mr. Robinson cites Plato. Mann and Robinson remind me of Plato's allegory of the cave. They think they hold the truth but instead are deceived and worse, playing their role for forces that wish to remove human progress.
