By dangerous, I thought either traffic or just challenging to drive (think a steep, windy road with a cliff on one side and no guardrail in the fog and/or snow, at night, of course .Bonus points for rock slides on the uphill side. About as bad as it gets around here. ) maybe a river crossing, but never expected crocodiles....That's insane...In every situation I mentioned it would be much safer to walk, but not in this case.
Ha ha! I know right. As long as you stay in the car (and the car doesn't break down, get stuck or leak!) you're pretty safe on this road, but wouldn't recommend walking 😄
How do they maintain the road? If the surface deteriorates or some of it washes away wouldn't it be really (ie even more) dangerous?
@@purplehipporecorder great question. I have no idea. It’s really rough - you can see the vehicles wobble and bump all the way across. Maybe the water level drops enough during really low tides for some poor brave road workers to patch it or drop flat stones in the worst holes? Either way, what a nightmare!
Road is only as dangerous as the nut behind the steering wheel.
@@jamest4424 plenty of nuts out there too, right! 🥜 Wish some of them would take a still on this road rather than drive across it 😄
and consequently, the most dangerous vehicles on any road are the ones with a faulty nut behind the wheel....
@@nunyabiznazz2210 ha ha! Couldn't agree more. Some real dumbasses on the road!
Painful stupid music. A huge thumbs down from me. And No its not the most dangerous road.

Good to see our hard earned tax dollars being wisely used to improve the roads infrastructure to make travel safer.

Thoroughly agree, horrible pointless "music".

Great place. Roads in Nepal make this look like a red carpet stroll.
@@logic.and.reasoning haven’t been to Nepal (yet!) but I can imagine. Though if you tried to stroll this one, I get the feeling there would indeed be a red carpet 😄
How can a motorcycle cross?
@@chrisblenkinsopp8588 on a ute or a flatbed? Doubt a bike would make it through - or its rider for that matter!
Victoria has even more dangerous roads .
@@bengurion5285 because of all the crocodiles down there? 😄
No because of Dan Andrew’s completely fucking the state
Cahills Crossing has hardly changed since I visited there in 1978.
@@geradkavanagh8240 change happens pretty slowly in the Top End. One of its many charms 👍
@@Mrandmrsromance Honestly thought a proper bridge would have been built by now. I admit there is problems with that given the best locations for a bridge upstream are absolutely covered with ancient art. Downstream, It's a big floodplain and the whole area is national park or part of Arnhem land.
@@geradkavanagh8240 I guess also that the water levels here change so much, a suitable bridge would have to be massive. Probably not what the locals really want either. Tricky one. In a way, I’m glad it hasn’t changed and hope it never does
@@Mrandmrsromance Spent time camping upstream of the crossing. We were using a canoe! Bank was like 3 metres so relatively croc proof but we all slept on the back of a truck or utility. Night time fun was using a spotlight on the river and counting the eyes.
@@geradkavanagh8240 wow! That sounds amazing! And somewhat terrifying - did you get any fishing done?
Nah, wouldnt even come close.

Thank you for your blog post! Great advice. Quick question - is it worth visiting villas too in Pompei?
Hi! Glad you liked our video ❤️ Yes, definitely worth it. Throughout the day, different villas are opened to visitors while others are closed, so if you have time, hanging around near the villas or asking which ones will open next is really worth it. The frescos, designs and remnants of the layouts of these buildings are amazing. Hope this helps :-)

I prefer just the stars Kinda polluting But that's just me
I know what you mean, and the stars here are incredible, but the way this important Creation story is told here is really impressive. Plus it’s a new way to bring people back to Uluru to experience and understand this ancient culture. You should check it out. I think you’d dig it ❤️
I've been to uluru several times My son worked there as a tour guide I'd rather be told the stories and use my imagination But that's just me. If the indigenous people are onboard with it that's all that matters ❤
@@kripaharris237 What a cool job your son had. Such a special place. Yes, this was the Anangu's idea - they wanted to share this part of their story with others, and Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia, who put the framework together, worked really closely with elders to make sure the story was told right. We were lucky enough to be at a press conference with the Anangu elders, the CEO of VITA and the drone architect who built the show. Absolutely fascinating. The drone show is narrated too by the way, so you hear the story evolve while you watch the iconography in the sky. But like you so rightly say, it's not for everyone. :-) Thanks for chatting about this. We're really passionate about the project and what's happening at Uluru.
Balmain: good luck getting out by car.

Sydney: Gotham if the Joker won.
Oh dear. Everything ok mate?
Well done, thank you. The Ghan is at the top of the bucket list. The question for us is which way ? Darwin to Adelaide or visa versa ? I’m thinking the former Cheers from Sydney 😊
Thank you. Lovely thing to say. Yes, I think you’re right, Darwin to Adelaide is better. You get an extra day on the train and stop in Coober Pedy - there’s a difference between the Ghan and the Ghan Expedition too, so keep an eye out for that. The Expedition, which is what we went on and what is in this video, only runs north to south. Hope this helps 🙂 Cheers - also from Sydney! 👍
Awesome spending time with you both & hosting you in our incredible NT backyard! Fantastic video too
Thank you so much, Luke. Honestly an experience we’ll never forget ❤️

Going in April, same way, Darwin to Adelaide. I can't wait!
Aaah! Amazing! You’ll have the best time!! ❤️
By the way, have a look at the 'in-flight' magazine 'Beyond' on the train. Our story on the love of travel should be in there. Page 52! 😉
Get a sinking feeling???

I am of aboriginal decent but didn’t get to learn from my elders as my grand father was stolen as a child and was ashamed of his aboriginality. I lived in vic most of my life and just recently decided to move across the country and I now live in the east Kimberley region and it is the best decision I’ve ever made. This place is so powerful it’s magical ❤️💛🖤
What an incredible story. I'm so glad you've managed to reconnect with your heritage. The Kimberley Region really is such an incredible part of the world. We felt very honoured to be able to experience it for a moment 🥰
Magnificent video captured all the elements of Seven Spirit Bay.
Thank you Margaret! Wasn’t it an amazing place? ❤️
Hmmm?
It wasn't like that when I stayed there in 1991 lol far from it. I slept in a rondavel surrounded by spiders
Ha ha! Really? Sounds like they have made quite a few improvements since then Peter. Very glad they have. For starters, I wouldn’t have coped with the spiders!
@@Mrandmrsromance I coped ok , I got drunk before bed lol oh and the bathwater was the colour of coffee
@@peterrooke5336 🤣🤣🤣 nice tactics - think I would’ve had to do the same. Thankfully the showers have improved here too - no more brown water but it is very saline bore water, so you never feel really clean. Tbh my only criticism of our stay. Not much they can do about that though.
Thank you that was wonderful I will be moving there by the end of the year 🫶🏼
Really? Ah, you’re moving to a very special place. Good luck with with move and thanks for the lovely comment ❤️
Would you recommend the heli tour?
There are a few reasons why we’d recommend the tour if budget and time allows. First, it’s simply beautiful - to see the reef and Hill Inlet from the air is incredible. It’s also a quicker (and much slicker) way to get back to Hamilton Island. Best of all, if you get a bit sea sick, the water crossing to ReefWorld can get quite rough, so avoiding that is definitely a plus!
Wow❤
It’s an amazing place! ❤️
@@Mrandmrsromance can you see the stars at night ??
@@missaamane8580 Soooo many stars - there’s no light pollution because you’re so far away from land on ReefWorld. They’re so bright! ✨
@@Mrandmrsromance awesome!! Super excited. I'm due to stay in October
@@missaamane8580 amazing!! Hope you have the best time! Top tip: take 2 sets of swimwear so you have a dry set to put on when you go back in the water (and you will want to!) - makes it much more pleasant and quicker! Oh and re: the stars, it’s almost impossible to photograph them well because the pontoon moves too much for low-light long-exposure photography
Gotta stay here because my apartment building is fixing the landing to the second story, no access to stairs for at least a week. But, it looks pretty nice, so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much. Luckily, we got an adjoining room for the kids, so I think we’ll survive 😅 Thanks for the tour!
Sounds like the best outcome for an annoying situation! Hope you enjoy your stay and glad we could help a little bit ❤️
