I tried it as an experiment - asking ChatGPT to write lyrics in the style of Nick Cave. It produced terrible lyrics, that did nothing like what Nick Cave actually does. I think it “read reviews” of what people say about Nick Cave lyrics - but frankly people do a lousy, lousy job of specifically describing why Cave’s lyrics are so impactful. For now it does not look like Cave has to worry about being replaced by AI. AIs seem to make terrible poets.
