I am so happy that I found your channel. You are so cute and lovely. I recently bought "Jazzie" - USA Nationals Ravensburger (I forget which round). I have not done it yet, as I am close to finishing the 500 piece "Dream Library" - Ravensburger. (not in any competition that I know of). I am not very fast, but improving my speed.

Didn't know pairs and teams were more popular than solo in Spain, such fun.

I think it's because more ppl have opportunities to participate this way. Also I learned on the Spanish nationals cast that first Spanish national championship only had pairs division and only after some years they added individual/teams/puzzle chess! I've only been into speed puzzling for 9 months or so. So I'm learning loads 😊

Cool recap with all the stats Mar. Also like the showcase of the puzzles. The Cow Wow one seems interesting, especially since the cut is good.

Hahaha yeah. I didn't show it on the haul but I did look at the catalogue later and saw the hedgehog puzzle as an option! Didn't help me much with the solve though 😅

By the way, Ravensburger 500 piece "Loving Longhorns" is also in the smaller box.

Just looked it up and that's a very cute image sadly not available in Spain. Dunno why I haven't managed to find most of these newer edition puzzles. At least I managed to get the Bridgerton 500 piece one! Looking forward to solving it 😊

I don't think Ravensburger will use large format puzzles at Worlds because they take up more space and people will be sharing tables. I recently purchased Circle of Colors Astrology. It was used in round B Pairs prelim of 2024 Canadian Nationals. (Circle of Colors Seashells was used in Pairs round A). I've only done Circle of Colors Flowers which has a white background. I think Astrology's dark background will be harder to do. I'm not a speed puzzler but I like puzzling and watching puzzle contests.

Aaah your totally right! I didn't even think about that it's just that I've seen them use bigger formats in some USA competitions. Oh the round ones I enjoy but I struggle a lot with spatial awareness with them. Does that happen to you? Unless I build the whole edge I have to make quite a lot for it to make sense. I've got the Insect one from the black background series and that one to me was quite tricky.

@@MadaraBePuzzling I've only done a couple 300 piece round puzzles and one 500 piece round. I did the edges first. One of the things I like about round is that it's easy for me to turn it around if needed. I have limited space so it's harder for me to turn around a rectangle puzzle. I hadn't notice any large format puzzle being used in USA contests that I've seen. I've only seen the Nationals and Winter Carnival contest in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Winter Carnival contest was sponsored by Puzzle Twist so they used there brand. The puzzles didn't see any bigger than Ravensburgers but I didn't check. Note: Karen Puzzles has recaps of Winter Carnival puzzle contest on her channel.

@@jmason1770 I think it was a competition from last year as I am watching Kyle Kosin on twitch. He is quite good and places pretty high and he was talking about it on his stream. I also watch Karen! That's how I got into speed puzzling! I watched her worlds 2023 recap and got super into it so here we are 😊

Quite a few puzzles I recognize from the competitions. The Shell Collector was in one of the preliminary rounds as a choice of 4 if I remember correctly. Nice haul and good luck making them!

Nice video Mar. I have the seem experience with a Clementoni puzzle I have, where it just seems like the image quality of the puzzle is bad because the image on the box has just been enlarged without keeping the resolution. Also the pooping puppies are very you, can only agree with the person who recommended this to you :D

Interesting video! For online competitions that you do from home you know your secret weapon now - the standing desk! 🙂 Your results are very relatable to me. I am (speed) puzzling for a year now and only managed two first-time-puzzles under 1 hour. But I did one of those (Animals from the Circle of Color series) multiple times (at least 10 times) and came close to the 40 minutes mark - could not beat it though... 🙂
