The true magic of The Circus lies in the DNA passed down through the generations, the stories handed down by parent to child or through the bonfires where the old timers gather and share the "remember whens"....or on barbeque nights, 3 show pot luck, in the dressing rooms, during road trips, staying on winter quarters and back lots... Histories told through the pictures, the amazing memories attached to costumes, animal training the world calls whispering....and acrobatics that begin before most circus kids ever remember and props that kids learn on that they can see in Grand paren's photos or training techniques with brilliantly refined tips & tricks that have been passed down so long no one is certain which generation was the originator... I met "Vanda" (age 91) today who stated she was part of this famous Cristiani family after demonstrating her ability to raise her leg over completely over her head while in sitting. Is this true?

Yes it is true. Our family met Vanda and her family in the 60s when she was married to Chester Cable. She passed away last week on Christmas morning. She was so amazing, the coolest person ever. Loved her 3 boys. I can still hear her voice speaking with that thick Italian accent. She was very beautiful, exotic and very kind., We were watching TV at their place one night after dinner and a circus act was on TV doing what's called The Butterfly. Vanda got sooo excited and said that's what her family used to do. She was very humble.

all'ora gli ho promesso che avrei guardato su internet per vedere se riuscivo a mettermi in contatao con qualcuno di loro o chi potrebbe avere un indirizzo un recapito......la mamma della Marilinda si chiamava Jolanda Cristiani figlia di Italia Cristiani Fornasari il fratello era Berto Cristiani erano 25 fratelli.....la mamma di questi era soprannominata la tedesca..............

Salve...stamani mattina ero con una mia amica qui verona ...Marilinda...ed ha iniziato a farmi vedere tutte le fotografie dei suoi parenti AMERICANI ...cosi li chiama lei (la mery ha 68 anni),praticamente i suoi parenti sono i CRISTIANI DEL DEL CIRCUS di Boston....ed e' molto dispiaciuta perche non e' mai riuscita amettersi in contatto con nessuno dei suoi discendenti ha provato una volta tanti anni fa'...ma dall'america la lettera gli e' tornata indietro

Hi Mateo, My mother was in Cole Brothers Circus with your family. I have grown up hearing stories about them! She is almost finished writing a book about her life with Cole Bros. She was there in the 1940's.

@Mateocristiani1 I grew up in Detroit, two blocks from Gerry Soules. I was only a kid when he would set up his apparatus in our grade school gym to practice there. He was a good friend of our family and the real thing. RIP Gerard Soules. You were the best!

All the little style moves that Gena integrates with her incredible juggling are sharper and more effective than ever. I would have loved to see some of her awesome four club stuff after the 5th goes back onto her forehead, but that step back-turn toward the audience-step forward-turn-back into five is itself a brilliantly effective touch.
