In my view, Edward Kelly was a criminal. Although I strongly renounce the imposition of death penalty, at the time in which the criminal activities were indulged, capital punishment was very much in the forefront and any person choosing to indulge in such criminal activities, very well knew the consequences following such activities; in which case, Kelly continued with his illegal activities in spite of the known consequences. So be it!

I presume you mean, corrupt? If you claim that was the position, let's see some evidence to support your comment? Strange that the Royal Commission held in 1881 into Victoria police found that the police were not corrupt and that they dealt with the extensive criminality of the Kelly's properly.

Chrissy Amphlett shone a light for other women after her. Like all great performers, she was a true contrarian on stage but she was also a dramatic actress, each song a little dramatic performance in itself. Her voice was so expressive and she knew how to use it perfectly. In a band that played very loud, you could hear every word crystal clear. It's interesting that she thought her audiences thought she was submissive but the reality was they were because she was in command. Guys in the audience were putty in her hands. She was in control. This became more apparent when she dropped the schoolgirl uniforms, babydoll nighties, and sailor suits for a femme fatale look oozing sexuality. The stage was her domain. She was the queen and we were her subjects, and we were subjected to a full-on feminine force of great dramatic impact. Absolutely the best frontperson in a great and powerful band. Mark McEntee was a tremendous guitarist but all the musicians who played in Divinyls were all great players. I never saw Divinyls give a bad performance. They were loud, aggressive, and solidly impressive, headed by the trailblazing Miss Amphlett. One of the greatest live bands ever. Total magic.
