So less than 2.4m would mean it's impossible to meet building regulations?
Nice job Dan.
2.2 metres head height used to be the norm after conversion is completed 2 metres
Rules have changed around insulation now. We were able to convert lofts at 2.3m before but now with the extra insulation and ventilation needed. We say 2.4m.
How much this cost
Spot on mate
I’m buying a salt roof house. It’s probably only 2-3 foot lower from other side. I want to a loft conversion to create large bedroom and storage. House is 7meters wide and 12m length to garden. The front of the house would look really weird if just took out the chunky large box on side on house. Can you recommend a roof can I change to within in a very small budget. How much does a new roof cost. Can someone just do the frame bit only
How much this cost roughly as ours is slightly lengthier in compared to it. Thanks
Hi how I can contact with you ? Kindly share your contact or mailing address Thanks.
My word what a transformation in a week! Looking forward to seeing this one progress. Your work is always quality lads. Keep them coming 👌👏🏻👊🏻
That looks good, what are the measurements of the room?
Really looking forward to seeing this progress. It's a huge space. 👍🏽
What’s the size of this Godzilla sized roof?
Not being insulated?
Class that. How wide is that dormer?
I hope they stop using these monster truss today. They must have lost their minds in the 80's and 90's to come up with that messy webbing!
What size of timber did you use for collar and double up the rafters? Thanks
What a stunning finish ❤️
Looking forward to the next video. We have finally started ours. 👍🏽
Can you do 2 types. I have a semi detached with a hip roof i think. Could i do a conversion to a gable roof but also with a dormer?
Hi, have a full house to renovate including adding a dormer loft conversion that we need to live in asap with child. Could I just put stairs and dormer in but stop there to get the messy big jobs out the way, then focus on the downstairs being livable? What % of the final price of a loft conversion would doing that be? My reason for this idea is i wont have the money to do it all yet, and dont want to mess my downstairs living space by doing these messy jobs at a later date. Is this a decent idea?
Beautiful
You tell em Dan 😂 I dont like what I see, I love what I see, love watching it all come together.
Thank you
Nice big space there Dan, looking forward to seeing the finished job. My staircase went in today, very exciting watching them put it together.
That’s great news. Must be very exciting now as you can see it coming to life up there now too 👌🏻
Jobs looking very nice. What’s the price sqm for skimming? Hope that’s ok to ask 👍
Sorry buddy we don’t price it like that. We actually employ a plasterer full time.
Quality job
Thank you
Do you clean the windwos from outside?
No they flip fully round and you can wipe from they inside
Good video Dan, thanks.
Hey Dan, would you consider a loft conversion in Colchester? Not sure if that's too far out for you.
Looks amazing!
Thank you
was this build within the 50 cubic meters PD?
Yes in most cases a hip to gable can be completed under pd. issue normally comes if the property has extensions already
Do you do loft extensions in Bexley, Kent?
Sorry I’m afraid not 😢
this loft look so small
Can only convert the space we have to start with. But in most people are happy for every extra bit of space possible.
Can you share your structural engineers contact details?
Hi Ben we use company called DB structural based in Leighton buzzard.
Loving your videos. I will be in touch in due course for our loft conversion. Great job!!
Awesome! Thank you!
GDPR?
That’s it 🤣🤣🤣
I have a truss roof new build. Do i need steel?
In Most case yes. But not always depending on size and type of conversions. Best to speak to a local structural engineer 🙏🏼
Amazing vid. Is it true the dormer cheeks need to be a certain distance away from the neighbours boundary to meet fire regs?
Yes or they need to be protected with a fire resistant product. Ie superlux
@@djmooreloftconversionspeci458 thanks. Is slate considered a fire resistant material? I'm in a conservation area so the materials need to match the roof.
Great vids thanks
Glad you like them!
Good video thanks
Thank you 🙏🏼
Can you tell me thebprice it cost for that size loft? Mine is about that size and we are on a tight budget as its for my autistic son as ive been told we either need to get him his own room so hes not sharing or he cant stay with us because he's put his brither in hospital several times now from sharing a room.
Im ment to be having a loft conversion and my loft is like this one and the builders are telling me dont need steel? But its been 3 months now and ive not even so much as seen the plans and they said if we did need steel beams the roof would need to be removed to get them in whicb would be an extra £15,000! I dont have that! I wont say what they quoted me but we are on a very tight budget as its to make an extra room so my autistic son has his own room and its took me saving up for the last 15 years just to get this together as we were originally saving for a deposit to buy a house. Thats impossible now but the housing associating we rent from said so long as all building regulations are met and the work is passed by one of their inspectors we have permission to have the work done.
Some people have nothing better to do than nit-pick and criticise, by some coincidence they're normally the folks who don't really have a clue what they're talking about. Keep trucking fellas and cheers for taking the time to show what goes into a gig like this.
Can't wait to see it progress 👍🏽
Great work! Really enjoy you taking the time making these videos.
Question ?, what is the easiest way to install a steel ridge ?, without crane
Headroom is a little restricted in the domer but what a great space. Look forward to seeing it done.
What's the cost for something like this?
Hi Dan I had a question was there an option to do a winder staircase at the bottom and top of the new staircase to avoid having to cut into the box room of the 1930s home? great work as ever I’m a long term follower of your channel and love your work! Cheers!
You could as a winder at the top but wouldn’t help. As it’s the high going down the existing in most cases. That why you need to move the wall to gain the space under the stairs on existing.
Looking forward to seeing this build progress. We have a 1950s semi with a hipped roof which we want to convert in a similar fashion. Shame you guys are at the other end of the country as your builds look fantastic.
nice job on planning the pipework it often seems like an after thought and can ruin a build if untidy .....
