Here in California somewhere @1977 my conservative parents and siblings watched this on PBS alongside Monty Python and Benny Hill. It was so funny as a kid, but a billion times better now as an adult. Cherished family memories.

Dave Allen was real Class. He really knew the job at hand. He was the best, it's an awful shame it had to come to an end.

Wonderful stuff. 1971 and all the jokes still work ! Where did recording come from ? Was this.rebroadcast in 2014? This is a 'PasB' with an announcer at the end, really good video quality technically.

    #### TIME HAS RUN OUT !! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. the sketch of the kissy young couple in front of the TV set with Mr.Allen as a newscaster watching them through the screen(11:44)has always been one of my favorite sketches of this show since I first watched it back in the '80's when I was a teenager.

Funny to see "news reader" Chris Serle. I'd never seen him but recognized the name AND the voice. He was the narrater on the Monkey Business series, about Monkey World rescue center in Dorset

I remember him from Dutch television as the guy sitting in a chair, holding a cigarette and a drink, telling jokes that I didn't understand, and my parents didnty understand either (maybe because they never learned english) But since then I have developed into a better understanding of English. And loving Dave Allen's humour even more. Thanks so much for uploading this

Dave was God's Own Comedian. grew up watching with my dad for over 50 years. Both my lovely dad and Dave are sadly gone, but no doubt still having laughs in Heaven with God and his Angels. RIP to the two most important men in my life and now joined by a 3rd, my late husband. I introduced him to Dave's comedy when we first met 45 years ago and he loved watching him on TV and then online until the day he joined him. . God Bless guys Miss you all.

Caught Dave Allen at Large on PBS in Phila. This was during high school, his show was on a Sunday night along with a Britsitcom. Part of my self-induced course in non-American television. Or the search for, if anything. But at least I had a friend or two in high school who were on the same trek. We had stuff to talk about Monday morning, before school opened while waiting in the cafeteria. Good times.

The world may quite literally be a joke of the unfunny kind right now but at least I can proudly say that it was a privilege to be able to see Dave Allen from about 14 years old. It helped make up for not having very much of a secondary education.
