Love your channel. Love the different videos from STAR WARS to railroad sawmills. I bounce around with different builds myself. I have a question tho. With acrylic paints (my main paint application so far) but with acrylics i find coverage and the ability to get the paint to "lay flat". Are my layers too quick and still not dry enough with acrylics? And primers, are they needed ?
@TheKitBashersАй бұрын
Acrylic paints can be tricky. Try to make sure your surfaces are clean and properly prepped. Primer is a good idea in most cases. Lastly we use the airbrush with lots of light coats to build up the surface for the body of our projects. Brushes are used for adding details typically. Best advice is keep at it and learn from each project. 👍🏽

I like the painted rail but I think the crossties should be black. Real ones are always black. And Ballasting suck in any scale. It's definitely coming together.

One of my first ever 3D prints was an N-gauge building on an FDM printer. The layer lines made the walls look like siding. It worked really well. But, for much of the other stuff I prefer resin. I'm currently designing my own train models, but with a fantasy take, fun times. Good luck, and welcome to a new hobby, if you just started 3D printing.

I print scale models in N gauge (1:160) using my SE and small size adds complexity to handling details, but I've been successful with gadgets like the ones you show as well as buildings. Vehicles less so, due to the detailing, but even so I've printed lots of those as well.
