  The man who created the Tim Tam biscuit was travelling through the UK in 1958 when he found the Penguin biscuit. He wanted to improve on the Penguin thus the Tim Tam biscuit was born. The Tim Tam biscuit is named after a racehorse called Tim Tam that won the 1958 Kentucky Derby.
