  My intermediate shaft was basically welded in differential and tried coming out with differential. Now it's stuck

  My problem is the diff is super stuck in the oil pan (seized/coroded) we already broke the actuator on the other side trying to get it out of the oil pan........i dont know where to go from here

  Worked like a charm ✨️ thanks now I can't get the last bolt out of the cross member, some case on the driver side is blocking the bolt from coming all the way out! It is a 03' ENVOY SLE 4.2LT, any advice I'm taking the transfer case out to install a new one and this is really going to get put on the back burner till the end of this upcoming semester. I despise not finishing what I've started, an advice would be great

  Have a bone stock 2012, and have owned since new. That code has been occasionally popping up for years. No mechanic or dealer could solve it.

  Turn the F&%king phone/ camera to the horizontal for a getter shot, and you didn't shoot taking the diff housing off and out . How the hell does the diff housing separate from the engine block? I can't get it to come off the engine.

  Same issue on my 13. I’ve done the solder fix and the code still comes up as a permanen dtc on a scanner. Weird thing is on my AP it shows it under “read codes” but doesn’t come up under the I/M readiness tab. It shows that MIL is on but shows 0 codes. Another note all my emissions monitors are set including the evap which leads me to believe there’s no actual fault in the evap system. I’ve driven about 3 days since last resetting the ecu, just waiting to see if the permanent code cycles away. Has your light come on since the solder fix?

  My transmission shop told me they have to remove part of the engine and pull the differential up through the top to replace (2005 Envoy, 4wd). Obviously you have a work-around on that.

  Okay, But how did you get it OUT of the oil pan? I have all four of the bolts out, the actuator housing, the intermediate/axle shaft, Drive shaft. All of it it out and off. Except the Differential carrier that will NOT move. Won't even rotate in the pan. Is there some special trick to getting it out? Special tool? I need help and no one is showing how they actually did it.

  Drop the oil pan and replace the $60 gasket and diff goes in and out alot easier then fighting it through a hole, no need to even jack up the motor. No fan removal!

  I will be pulling my front differential tomorrow in my 9-7x aero, I just installed a Magnason 2650 on it and loaded a hot tune and first launch I exploded the front differential housing.

  will the driver side axle just pull out, there's nothing to release the axle.. I can't get it off, i used a prybar and a chisel to try and get it to pop out.... just making sure its same as the rest of the cv axles. just need to pop it out

  It pops out. But sometime you have to smack it with a large heavy bar to get them to pop out. Pry bars rarely work, needs that smack. I usually use a large very heavy bar, hit it from the underside going outward, almost like a pool stick hitting a ball.

  Mine got stuck bad but was because bearings in diff were shot to hell and was binding up the axle.... Pain in ass

  What the F man, you just did it so hard. You take the pull the axle out from the diff. take the Alternator off, you take the side pulley off, you take the Compressor off, you take down the Diff bolts and fish it from the hood. This is so simple, you made it soooo hard. You crazy man

  Jacking the motor up and over worked and didn’t have to touch the rack&pinion. All I did was take the two bolts out of the top of the fan shroud and had enough movement to get it out and another one back in. For a 64 year old man working in the driveway, five hours start to finish including replacing the top ball joints while it was apart.

  All you need to do is unbolt the power steering pump alternator assembly for the 5.3 v8 a fit will come out of the top by the battery

  You know the front and mid body mounts are pretty easy to take out to get the body up out of the way as well.

  Mac Grant I’ve done engine jobs and to get to the Belem housing bolts you need to jack up the body but the post 2004 models where the front axle runs thru the pan. I see what your saying after further inspection.dropping the rack would probably be easier

  There are threads in the end of it. I think they are 1/4" standard thread. It has to come out from the passenger side. Usually I can just hand it with my fingers and wiggle it out. But one that was stuck i bolted a chain on, broke the chain, then I welded the chain on and yanked it out with a slide hammer.

  YOOO my man!!! THIS WORKS!!! I was looking at Alldata and it seemed like a nightmare. Then I found your video and it was amazing. The only things I did differently was : 1) Didnt need to remove steering gear, u can actually angle the end up and the diff clears no problem. 2) I used a ratchet strap and wrapped it around one of the mounting points on the oil pan and ratchet. Regardless YOU ARE THE MAN!! THANK YOU!!

  ALSO disconnect the water hose going to the heater core, mine cracked when pulling the engine toward the passenger side.

  Jayden Miedema it increases steering, which is a big deal in extreme backcountry for counter steer on steep side hills
