    New coils and plugs, PCV replaced last year, new Vanos solenoids and Vanos valve (filter like). Still does it. Lifters tick like yours. Just live with it 😅

    Hello guys please help me i got stuck trying to repair this car. Its an E60 N52B25A engine code. I got misfire codes in 1-2-3 cylinder. Spark plugs are all changed to new, tried swapping coils from 4-5-6 to 1-2-3, cleaned the vanos solenoids and the filters,disa valves are checked working fine. What else could cause misfire in 1-2-3 cylinders? Also the car is running "fine"(idle is jumping up and down a little bit),but it has no power at all and under heavy load i get check engine.

    @@Dr-easy only silicone intake hose and K&N air filter and new ECU map. Nothing special.

    @@Dr-easy you have to visit someone who has online connection from ISTA to the official BMW database. And they will be able to reinstall your ecu

    Never use additives. Just clean the vanos solenoids, vanos check valves and change the oil every 4k and that will slowly clean the engine. Engine cleaner will dislodge sludge and can clog up sensitive areas, i.e., vanos check valves, vanos solenoids, VVT oil feeder. The lifter tick occurs because the car isn't driven hard enough. These cars are designed for the Autobahn. They are meant to drive hard. if you drive the car around town or not often, or change the oil every 10k miles, sludge builds up and lifters will drain. Solution = use 5W-30 oil!! 5W-40 is too thick. Buy average 5W-30 oil and change every 4k miles until you reach 20k miles. Drive the car hard three times a week, high rpms like 5-6k RPMs on every gear. Clean the vanos solenoids and vanos check valves every 4k miles when you change the oil. After 20k miles, then use good oil like Liqui Moly. Also continue to drive the car hard three times a week. That will keep your engine clean and lifters full.

    It’s not really bad. I have a new VW Arteon and it is the same. There should be slight vacum in header however the cap should not be sucked really hard to open. Thise is not hard! It’s as it should be!

    After cleaning the injectors you had no issues so far? I heared that after cleaning new type bosch injectors they might start leaking after some time..

    If i do this to my e46 n46b20 engine, the engine almost stalls when i open the cap only a little bit. I close it quick and then repeat (open/close) then i can open de cap without stall, but idle is different and their is something tickling. Is it normal? And also very much blue smoke when driving

    @ okay it runs good like butter still it’s a bmw 2006 330i but it just had a bad rattle one nights let it sit changed then oil and stuff now the car just idles and sounds like the mufflers popping and making sounds

    mine does the same.. i just believe it s normal behaviour. i have no engine code, no codes in code reader . this car just likes to idle like a pig

    Dude, with all your rough running issues etc - have you tried replacing all the ignition coils? Not sure if it could cause this kind of issue, probably not - Anyway, seems you have either a very rich mixture, or some problem with the o2 sensors upstream of the cats. Problem is same on both banks -- it is likely a "global" problem. MAF sensor?. I do not believe injectors since it's equal, and normally things do not fail in equal pairs like here..

    Honestly o2 sensors are still genuine and the car has 250000KM. The fuel consumtion is aprox 11.5l/100. I think its a lot. Maybe I can try to change them. But what Brand? Genuine are very expensive. BOSH? OR?

    @ As long as it's a decent brand you should be fine. I would start with the O2 sensors, then I would change the MAF sensor. After that, I am not sure to be hoenst 😀

    Does your engine do the ticking often when starting? Mine does it 1) on cold start 80% of the time, 2) when warm, after sitting for 15-30+ minutes. Rarely does it take minutes for the ticking to stop, but sometimes it does. Most of the time it's just maybe 5-6 ticks and then it's done.

    The ticking always takes 60s after cold start. If i stop the engine for one miute after its warm, than I can hear also ticking but aprox. 30s only.

    @ Ok, thanks for the info. The good thing is that this does not affect reliability of the engine. Mine has 320 000+ km, most of the time some ticking during startup, but still going strong.

    Unfortunately not, there is still somethink wrong and I dont know what but it is only cold starts, during driving it runs smoothly 😀

    What is the cause of that mid-low pitch sucking sound is that caused/way to know if u have a bad ccv?

    There must be a vacuum inside the engine so if you open the cap during idling than you need to hear the sucking noise and rpms will change. If not than you have vacuum leak.

    Yes, it is very good. Because there must be vacuum. If you open the cap during idling engine, the idle must be different after opening. If the idle (rpm or sound) is the same than it means vacuum leake. 😉👍

    It’s normal. Let the engine to its thing until it settles at 550rpm then you’re safe to drive. Never drive before it settles. Mine has 160.100km and it had a very very hard time coping with its owners, it’s been exploited to its max on a daily basis and we never had any major issues with it. Let the engine warm then drive.

    Hi I changed my top water hose on my E90 325i and now I have engine light on dash and code p1639 throttle body stuck open all I did was take of air filter and removed maf sensor as water pipe was seized. Any ideas

    Bohužel ne, ty zdvihatka neudrží tlak a jak padne olej tak trvá než se tam natlačí přes ty úzký kanálky. Zatím to stále cvaká 1 min a pak klid tak to neřeším. Možná je nechám někdy vyměnit, uvidím.
