Recovery Speakers

Recovery Speakers

RecoverySpeakers.com is dedicated to preserving the audio history of the 12 step fellowships. Our library spans eight decades and continues to grow. We are committed to providing these audio resources for all future generations. Whether you are just beginning the recovery process or have been sober for many years you’re sure to find the support you need from this extensive array of speakers.

Over the past five years Recovery Speakers has been working to digitize these old tapes in an effort to preserve this very important history. Most of the recordings are of speakers sharing their experience, strength, and hope at conferences, conventions, and workshops. Within the library are some of the oldest original recordings of Alcoholics Anonymous & Al-Anon’s early pioneers some never heard before this project began.

Because the recovery movement continues to grow, we will constantly be increasing our selection of recordings. We attempt to provide the best sound quality for each talk.

I came to Bill Wilson and Bob Smith, and then also to Jesus Christ. God bless you Bill and Bob for what you did, and the lives like my own that you've saved.

Bill Wilson is a cult leader. AA utilize though reform. It's a narcissist maneuver to control and manipulate one into being a narcissistic supply.

I feel like someone who is constitutionally incapable of being honest with myself. I’ve struggled with the truth since childhood. I’m going to try the 12 steps again. I hope that I can let go absolutely and god removes this defect in character that plagues me.

Dr Paul is part of the reasons I stayed sober. Got sober. Doctor, Alcoholic, Addict So powerful and hilarious. What a sense of humor. Acceptance. Isn’t that what it’s all about? I actually saw Dr. Paul in Southern California. He was already getting on in years. Dr. Paul was astill amazing. I’ll never forget that. Max was there too! So grateful this was posted. I needed to hear this today.

Just a note on LSD, Our Bill Wilson also used LSD and wanted to incorporate with AA, again here we can use contempt prior to invest my friends. Why LSD? Because for a little while it shuts the ego off and also, Ram Das, a very brilliant psychologist, went to India and was able to reduce the ego a huge amount, much more than the vast majority of my fellow AA members have without any further use of LSD. What the steps do, if done properly is reduce the ego, enough to find Love, or God, just a little is needed to stop drinking but why stop there. If you think AA is “the way” that’s ego, likely you have struggles still, meditation if done properly brings us to the present moment, the only moment, shuts the mind off where the ego resides

Earl's delivery of the steps and the whole ball of monkies...the eerily similar and psychotically relatable statements regarding what it's like, the extreeeeem nature of us real alcoholics....A gift of perspective that just made everything click for me in early sobriety. I'm so grateful I stumbled upon these recordings. Much gratitude to Earl...🙏 for being the channel to deliver the message that made me stick and stay.
