  Yet I feel like alot of Ragnars downfall was his fault. His betrayal of Ragnar hurt him deeply. He had lost so much, been betrayed by others, but Loki betraying him stung the most. Like the last drop that broke the damn. And when he went to raid England, no one supported him. Not even loki

  I loved this scene but from a tactical view why did the king choose to stay and fight rather than retreat and make the vikings siege. I understand wanting to defend the land but you cant defend anything if your entire army gets wiped out.
