  At this point i would say Civ 6 is more than a competent game. The majority of the ire seems to be the cartoony visuals, but these games are not primarily about visuals. There is a plethora of mods out there to change that if it is a big issue.Civ 5 was TERIBBLE at launch. It took a long time for it to get up to scratch. Civ 4 was launched before Steam was mainstream and also in an era where people still quite commonly bough boxed copies. This will skew the player metrics.

  I think it has to do with the learning curve. Games have in my mind 3 differn't states of learning to play, Your a NOOB is it not fun becuase you have no clue what you are doing. Stage two is you have enough knowledge for the game to be fun. The finally stage is you are near a master or near enough to not make a differnce. What makes a game good to me is the second stage being easy enough to reach. Quick enough were you don't just give up. However it should take a while to master the game. CIv 5 is really easy to get the second stage, nearly impossible to master. Civ 6 confuses the player so they never get to stage 2. atleast that was my expierce with the games.

  I'm a Civ 5 nut. Its alot easier to get into and Civ 6 was a entirely different game. Then the Pixar ascetics were a bit harder for me to get into. But hearing Sean Bean was always a treat. RIP Mr Nimoy.

  Good tier list! I’d like to make the case for a higher Greece (both), but especially Gorgo. The hoplite is available after bronze working, just 2 techs. It’s v quick to build, just 1 maintenance and resource free. Swordsmen are later to unlock, need lucky iron access, cost 1.5x to build and 20 iron a pop. FAR slower army to get out. AND the hoplite army is stronger… First off, base 28 str dwarfs the warrior 20. Next to another hoplite gives +10 for a whopping 38, (+str from cards!) destroying them. It’s even 3 ahead of the swordsman’s 35. (Both do get a +5 for infantry vs anticav mind - but 2 cards negate that. Plus the first hoplite promotion will remove it. The 2nd prom actually flips it!) Gorgo takes this further. Oligarchy is faster to rush with her culture from kills for another +4, putting them at a huge 42 strength, but she also gives +1str for each military card, and she gets a free wildcard. That’s a possible, +3 at base or +4 in oligarchy, for an eye-watering 46 combat strength on a 2-tech cheap unit. That’s *before* any promotions for +5 each. Quicker to tech, quicker to build, cheaper to keep and even stronger than the swordsman rush, the staple rush in any dom game. That has to warrant at least A tier. Negating cav rushes too to boot; and covering all culture needs through kills (but having a cheaper theatre district anyway!) Just the cherry on the cake. Early game powerhouse ahead of even Gilgamesh or Rome, but Late game her policy card effect gets stronger with more cards and only keeps her strength edge. A tier for sure.

  Montezuma in Civ 5 and 6 is a different person than in every other civ game. Moteuczomatzin Ilhuicamina is in Civ 5 and 6, Motecuhzoma Xocoyotzin is the leader in every other game.

  Im always pushing for a making money run then using the money to buy granaries, libraries, lighthouses, shipyards normally youre rewarded units for free by doing this. Im in the modern era my miliary units are still in the same spot they were in the medieval era. I almost never build military units. Unless im satisfying an agenda. I rarely find attacking civs to be useful. Or starting wars as the bots always team up on you. Even if you were attacked first.

  Can not launch on my "NASA" Computer with 2 GPU's one with 16GB of dedicated memory and 32 GB of shared memory, the other with 24 dedicated, and 32 shared. A 4GHz processor, with 12 cores, 64GB of ram. All because I have to use Studio Drivers for dev stuff. Now I could tell it to launch with the game drivers built into the studio drivers, but that would take a bit more doing and I am annoyed. I guess 2k hates other software devs, even if they are not game devs.

  I tried map tacks, but without knowing what adjacency patterns and knot recognizing each of the icons it is very hard to use. I spend forever clicking through the build to see the +# symbols and then not knowing if a bonus resource should be gutted to make space for something. There is a chasm of info needed to make use of the mod
