The problem wit sv is every map had the same pokemon species instead of giving everything it's own specific area so you had to travel to catch the pokemon. The problem with takin pokemon out is leaving out the ones ppl actually wanna play with. I can't play a pokemon game without the ones I want. They put ALOT in sv that made me want to play. The problem is too many games. Tall gettin tired of it. Yall may need a break to miss it. Like I did

Listen every pokemon should be in every game. I'm a grown man and couldn't be apart of alot of stuff. It's shouldn't have taken this long to have mew in a game. You can literally trade for all other reasons.

I still wish the main series games gave multiple ways to evolve trade Evos as opposed to just having to trade them while Milotic can be readily available in random raids if you want to have one you personally raised and bonded with you have to trade it to a friend then trade it back.

If I recall cortectly, the Pokedex of Shelmet and Karrablast says something about needing to get hit with elrctricity simultaneously to evolve. So maybe the actual cause of evolution whilr trading for Pokémon is getting electroshocked, what seems to be happening while trading. This could also explain wilde trade evolution, since getting struck by lightning might cause similar effects

Unbound (a romhack) used the Link Stone in a similar fashion. And they are found within the KBT Expressway's walls (akin to those of the Sinnoh Underground) alongside other evolution stones. It also explains why I simply need to _use_ the Whipped Dream (say) to get my Slurpuff. Hoopa might be the ultimate culprit (after all, it's the reason Borrius won the Kalos war, right?)

Can you explain the night and day evolutions like Espeon and Umbreon? Also I know that Oddish doesn't evolve with night and day but it seems like it should. The pokedex says that Oddish hides in the ground during the day and only comes out at night, and Vilepum and Blossom could be duel choices for Gloom depending on if it's night or day. Sorry I couldn't think of any other pokemon besides these

Having the option to evolve Pokémon by trading or using the Linking Cord item in the same game would be nice. Sadly, trading is now meaningless because SV does not have the Loto-ID. It is cool to be able to get trade-evolved Pokémon from the wild, Haganēru in the Shin'ou Champion Road being one of them. The only downside is you will not get the boosted exp. since the ID matches.

So I was debating if I should talk about this or not in the video - but ultimately decided it wasn't relevant overall. But to answer your question - I mean they have a clean relationship that is necessary for them to evolve. Basically cousin species evolving by their rivalry relationship and theft of one's shell lol

I think maybe the trade evolving Pokemon can’t evolve by any other way while in trained by Pokemon trainers because of the factors of their environment are different from the wild meaning that the trigger for the evolution process is no longer a option for some reason some evidence for this is the Pokédex says that stealix evolves from digging deep underground and that could suggest that being in the wild or being looked after by people can impact a Pokémon’s development similar to animals in the real world but I don’t have a lot of evidence supporting my hypothesis

I would also like to believe that shelmit and karablast’s evolution is possible in the wild because it is theoretically possible for a karablast to steal a shelmit shell and then trigger both Pokémon’s evolution

@@therealdrogane I think you could also explain why Pokemon evolve by looking at nature because a Pokemon that wouldn’t need to fight very often would want to stay in a smaller form due to likely needing less food leading to evolved Pokemon being more rear because only the leaders of groups and a few other Pokemon in their group would need to evolve to protect their fellow members of their group like we see in legends Arceus

Karrablast and Shelmet both require each other to evolve through trade. Mainly due to Karrablast stealing the shell of Shelmet. Linking cord is one of the few positives i like from PLA. But I think it didn't return because SV is a traditional pair games that encourages trading. PLA is a single that requires catching all pokemon.

To me it seems that when a pokemon turns into that white amorphous light when contained in a pokeball and is traded with the item on it, somehow the item melds with the pokemon genectic makeup and triggers a metamorphosis aka evolution

Trading isn't as simple as swapping pokeballs with another trainer. It requires the trade system that seems to simulate time passing. Back when weilders were forced to share pokemon through military enlistment, time spent in the charge of a trainer that isn't your own is battle hardening and potentially why trade evos began. You mentioned pokemon centers and how you essentially trade away your pokeballs to the nurse who heals your mons before trading them back to you but no trades occur when healing and that somewhat surprises me that Chancey doesn't evolve into Blissey while being healed at a pokemon center or while holding a full restore or something. And some trainers abandon their pokemon, but the release function isn't abandonment.

The real question is, why not make pokeball technology human compatible so people can live and travel at near light speed with the trade system and save massive amounts of space at the same time?

Technically, Damian didn't release Charmander or trade him to Ash. Damian used a negative training technique to try to strengthen his Charmander but eventually left him to die because the training wasn't working. He kept his pokeball so no other trainer could capture charmander because he thought charmander would return stronger and more brutal or wouldn't return. When he tries to get Charmander to return, he slaps the pokeball away but that same ball is found later and given to Ash. Charizard was always Damian's Charizard. That's why he was such a showoff. Ash should've had access to his team of 6 plus Damian's Charizard because they were never able to register the trade in the trade machine.
All I will say is that we need the Link Cable back! It is the best evolution item in the game.

Always love your take on these topics Drogane! When Gen 8 revealed that it would only initially have 400 Pokémon I actually supported that idea as it encouraged players to build a whole new team of Pokémon from Scratch and that’s how each generation of Pokémon should be. I also had incentive to complete my first Pokédex at the time as 400 is a manageable number.

What about Max Raid Dens in Galar, or are we considering that a seperate phenomenon i could be wrong but i thought they arrived there naturally. If we take the Anime as cannon we know of 2 Zygarde so who is to say that one doesn't exist for every region and they activate/awaken when they are needed.

2D anime graphics are proven to save memory size to allow extra fun gameplay content. "Pokémon getto daze" is the true slogan since "Gotta catch 'em all" contradicts how evolving and trading are different from catching as you are getting the Pokémon. Having the National Pokédex in the Pokémon games should be possible in the same way as including the Exp. Share setting, overworld Ability effects, reusable TMs, and others. Completing the Regional Pokédex to get the Shiny Charm should be enough, and the National Pokédex can just be a nice extra.

Well the premise for this video is simply not true. Mew was added secretly and was never intended to be part of the dex by the majority of gamefreak. The pokedex as intended was 150 pokemon. Once it was known thar Mew existed, there were multiple giveaways for it. Celebi was also supposed to be added to the Gen 2 games. FRLG, XD, and Colosseum were created specifically to compete the dex in Gen 3. It's also possible to complete the dex between Gen 6 and 7. Home literally exists to store your full pokedex. Just because you can't built a living dex doesn't mean it's not possible

This has been a strange argument. Mew being added secretly does not change the fact that it was ommitted from being catchable in game. There are plenty of game desginers that make secrets but they are actually accessible to view or game etc in game without cheating or having to go to an in person event. Stating "Celebi was also supposed to be added to the Gen 2 games" - what does that mean - I'm suppose to give them a pass for not doing it? The Gen 3 comment was a strange one because even though I mentioned all of that in the video - you clearly missed the point of it and definitely did not watch to the end. They didn't want you to catch all the pokemon because they wanted you to buy all the other games in order to catch them all, from the start. That's why all these things exist the way they do. If you are fine with it, cool, and I said at the end of the video that even I am cool with that now. But to act like this wasn't a thing - that's just pampering Game Freak a bit.

@therealdrogane I did watch to the end, thanks. I'll say it again, Mew was added last minute by one programmer and wasn't intended to be part of the by the TEAM that created the games. It's pretty obvious that the team's intention was to collect (what they believed to be) all 150 pokemon by yourself and with friends. Honestly, mentioning the starters and eevees would be a better argument than mew. As for Gen 3, you can't simultaneously say "they didn't want you to finish the dex" and "they wanted you to buy all their games to finish your dex". Both can't be true. Every game company is designed to get you to buy all of their games. That's literally the reason pokemon has 2 versions of every generation. It seems like you may not understand your own point tbh. Idk, arguing thst GF doesn't want you do collect all the pokemon BECAUSE they want you to buy all their games is a weird hill to die on, especially since you don't even have to buy all the games to do it (Pretty much just SwSh+1DLC, PLA, SV+DLCs, and a couple 3ds games, and Go). Hell, most legendaries and mythicals are available FREE in Pokemon Go now. I just genuinely don't get the argument you're trying to make. Game company wants to sell games. I don't get why that's a problem. 🤷♂️ Not everyone wants to or needs to fill their living dexes, but it's definitely possible, I did it in 11 months

Again, finishing the first pokedex was in Gen 1 and 2 were possible because you did not need Mew or Celebi to complete them. They were literally DLC before DLC existed. You can complete any pokedex in virtually any game because mythcials aren't required for any dex outside of Legends Arceus. I mean, you're welcome to your opinion, it just doesn't make much sense.

It's a shame really- I myself feel I'm so off behind because I still trying to finish all my shiny hunting in let's go Pikachu, and I still have sowrd,shield,SR,VL, Legend and let's go eevee. Sometimes I wish stuff is a bit easier for those who are trying to catch up qwq

At one point, Paris didn't want any wildlife in the city at all. Nature was slowly reintroduced when King Louis made people see nature in a different way. In Legends: Arceus, people and pokemon live separate lives and are just barely coming together as partners. Legends: Z-A could be so rich in lore. It'll most likely focus on the point where Lumiose City goes from a concrete fortress meant to keep out hostile pokemon, to a modern mecca where people and pokemon live and work together in peace and harmony.

First of please watch did you know gameing videos on generation 3 Mystical were made to not be counted for pokedex completion. You didn't haven't read any pokemon magazine or read online about any infomercial about ruby or sapphire before getting them but you happen to complete kanto and johto pokedex with mew and celebi (so you A untainted mew from toy are us lottery event/mew machine from the first movie and another lottery event via mail order from nintendo Power in the us or B you did the mew runaway glitch to untainted) celebi could be obtained from lottey mail order from nintendo power ,toy our us event (likey the reason) or from event injector machine from the pokemon centre new york, the coin case glitch wasn't discovered till 2013 ) Kanto/johto pokemon were still in ruby and sapphire they were still there and not dummyed out compared to lets go games,sword and shield,brilliant diamond and shining pearl, pokemon legends arceus and scarlet and violet were the unavailable pokemon were semi dummyed out. Trying to compare ruby and sapphire to post lets go games is silly because you can still trade in kanto and johto mons into ruby and sapphire without any issue while lets go games onward the pokemon that weren't patch in from dlc are screwed besides scarlet and violet people managed to use the dummyed out data for wireless hack mons battles where the dummy model is pikachu. Jirachi wasn't available for capture till pokemon go. Arceus wasn't catchable in pokemon legends arceus they were officially catachable in brilliant diamond and shinning pearl if you have save data on pokemon legends arceus wirh the same account that your currency playing. Pulling another generation 5 wouldn't work generation 3/ruby and sapphire were planning to have an original pokedex jurring it's development but game freak at the time realise they don't have enough time or creativity to fill in jurring their crunch time (source did you know gameing) and also if they did another regional pokedex it would cause more time crunch on the coders , game freaks higher up are to blame for setting deadlines on development time to hit spinoff/tcg and anime tideins you can't really have an new anime season without the next generation pokemon,region and characters the orrange isle arc work due to generation 2 still haveing development and the arc working as an buffer for pokemon internationally haveing time to have time to catch up. Having pokemon show up in most switch game is great haveing some of your favourite mons in any region is fun even if its just for pokemon camp or picnic or walking around with you and provide many ways to enjoy/experience pokemon with your favourite mons Celebi could only be updated from japans pokemon collasum bonus disk once you complained the game and purifying evey available none E reader shadow pokemon and transferring it into an jp ruby/ sapphire or going to pokemon rocks America event in the us with an English copy of an generation 3 game and theres no other way to get celebi or most generation 3 event outside of the us and japan. I'd accept all the cuts if Pokemon Home was free and they came up with a physical solution for the games up to 3DS since they aren't going to support Pokemon Bank forever and sever most of the games. Any defense of cuts without those two things is white-knighting for them ruining THE gimmick of Pokemon that make it unique among games for the sake of squeezing profit and I don't respect you if you play devil's advocate for it.

@@therealdrogane The Gen 1-2 thing is something that is always brought up and I agree in theory, but it was early enough where I can cut them some slack for dealing with the technology and changes to overall in game systems and was probably done for those reasons over cynical greed. After the inter-generational trading being established for so long to became the norm and with exponentially improved technology I can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt on it and absolutely believe they are fucking it up on purpose. That's what I don't like about defending the idea of not having every Pokemon coded in - it basically gives them an out to say "We actually did it for THIS reason and not the screw you consumers reason, obviously!" and the more people are complacent about it the quicker it's gonna happen. I generally agree about the games having 400ish or whatever Pokemon specific to being caught WITHIN the region for game-play/balance, but they should still be able to be traded into the game. The Dexit pushback probably at least slowed the decline.

"Pokémon getto daze" is the true slogan since "Gotta catch 'em all" contradicts how evolving and trading are different from catching as you are getting the Pokémon. Having the National Pokédex in the Pokémon games should be possible in the same way as including the Exp. Share setting, overworld Ability effects, reusable TMs, and others. Completing the Regional Pokédex to get the Shiny Charm should be enough, and the National Pokédex can just be a nice extra.
Honestly it is better they limited the dex now, because dexit was inevitable sooner or later with all these new forms and variants for existing pokemon being a thing

Well the premise for this video is simply not true. Mew was added secretly and was never intended to be part of the dex by the majority of gamefreak. The pokedex as intended was 150 pokemon. Once it was known thar Mew existed, there were multiple giveaways for it. Celebi was also supposed to be added to the Gen 2 games. FRLG, XD, and Colosseum were created specifically to compete the dex in Gen 3. It's also possible to complete the dex between Gen 6 and 7. Home literally exists to store your full pokedex. Just because you can't built a living dex doesn't mean it's not possible
This has been a strange argument. Mew being added secretly does not change the fact that it was ommitted from being catchable in game. There are plenty of game desginers that make secrets but they are actually accessible to view or game etc in game without cheating or having to go to an in person event. Stating "Celebi was also supposed to be added to the Gen 2 games" - what does that mean - I'm suppose to give them a pass for not doing it? The Gen 3 comment was a strange one because even though I mentioned all of that in the video - you clearly missed the point of it and definitely did not watch to the end. They didn't want you to catch all the pokemon because they wanted you to buy all the other games in order to catch them all, from the start. That's why all these things exist the way they do. If you are fine with it, cool, and I said at the end of the video that even I am cool with that now. But to act like this wasn't a thing - that's just pampering Game Freak a bit.
@therealdrogane I did watch to the end, thanks. I'll say it again, Mew was added last minute by one programmer and wasn't intended to be part of the by the TEAM that created the games. It's pretty obvious that the team's intention was to collect (what they believed to be) all 150 pokemon by yourself and with friends. Honestly, mentioning the starters and eevees would be a better argument than mew. As for Gen 3, you can't simultaneously say "they didn't want you to finish the dex" and "they wanted you to buy all their games to finish your dex". Both can't be true. Every game company is designed to get you to buy all of their games. That's literally the reason pokemon has 2 versions of every generation. It seems like you may not understand your own point tbh. Idk, arguing thst GF doesn't want you do collect all the pokemon BECAUSE they want you to buy all their games is a weird hill to die on, especially since you don't even have to buy all the games to do it (Pretty much just SwSh+1DLC, PLA, SV+DLCs, and a couple 3ds games, and Go). Hell, most legendaries and mythicals are available FREE in Pokemon Go now. I just genuinely don't get the argument you're trying to make. Game company wants to sell games. Again, finishing the first pokedex was in Gen 1 and 2 were possible because you did not need Mew or Celebi to complete them. They were literally DLC before DLC existed. You can complete any pokedex in virtually any game because mythcials aren't required for any dex outside of Legends Arceus. I mean, you're welcome to your opinion, it just doesn't make much sense.

@therealdrogane true but I doubt pokemon would ever have a last game. Maybe in another series that isn't lore fouced or region fouced will be a better idea (like that would ever happen). It's a shame really- I myself feel I'm so off behind because I still trying to finish all my shiny hunting in let's go Pikachu, and I still have sowrd,shield,SR,VL, Legend and let's go eevee. At one point, Paris didn't want any wildlife in the city at all. Nature was slowly reintroduced when King Louis made people see nature in a different way. In Legends: Arceus, people and pokemon live separate lives and are just barely coming together as partners. Legends: Z-A could be so rich in lore. It'll most likely focus on the point where Lumiose City goes from a concrete fortress meant to keep out hostile pokemon, to a modern mecca where people and pokemon live and work together in peace and harmony.

First of please watch did you know gameing videos on generation 3 Mystical were made to not be counted for pokedex completion. You didn't haven't read any pokemon magazine or read online about any infomercial about ruby or sapphire before getting them but you happen to complete kanto and johto pokedex with mew and celebi (so you A untainted mew from toy are us lottery event/mew machine from the first movie and another lottery event via mail order from nintendo Power in the us or B you did the mew runaway glitch to untainted) celebi could be obtained from lottey mail order from nintendo power ,toy our us event (likey the reason) or from event injector machine from the pokemon centre new york, the coin case glitch wasn't discovered till 2013 ) Kanto/johto pokemon were still in ruby and sapphire they were still there and not dummyed out compared to lets go games,sword and shield,brilliant diamond and shining pearl, pokemon legends arceus and scarlet and violet were the unavailable pokemon were semi dummyed out. Trying to compare ruby and sapphire to post lets go games is silly because you can still trade in kanto and johto mons into ruby and sapphire without any issue while lets go games onward the pokemon that weren't patch in from dlc are screwed besides scarlet and violet people managed to use the dummyed out data for wireless hack mons battles where the dummy model is pikachu. Jirachi wasn't available for capture till pokemon go. Arceus wasn't catchable in pokemon legends arceus they were officially catachable in brilliant diamond and shinning pearl if you have save data on pokemon legends arceus wirh the same account that your currency playing. Pulling another generation 5 wouldn't work generation 3/ruby and sapphire were planning to have an original pokedex jurring it's development but game freak at the time realise they don't have enough time or creativity to fill in jurring their crunch time (source did you know gameing) and also if they did another regional pokedex it would cause more time crunch on the coders , game freaks higher up are to blame for setting deadlines on development time to hit spinoff/tcg and anime tideins you can't really have an new anime season without the next generation pokemon,region and characters the orrange isle arc work due to generation 2 still haveing development and the arc working as an buffer for pokemon internationally haveing time to have time to catch up. I'd accept all the cuts if Pokemon Home was free and they came up with a physical solution for the games up to 3DS since they aren't going to support Pokemon Bank forever and sever most of the games. Any defense of cuts without those two things is white-knighting for them ruining THE gimmick of Pokemon that make it unique among games for the sake of squeezing profit and I don't respect you if you play devil's advocate for it.
In reality as I expressed they already did this back in Gen 3. They will do it again. As new hardware gets created - they will without a doubt close the barriers of old to bring for the barriers of new.
@@therealdrogane The Gen 1-2 thing is something that is always brought up and I agree in theory, but it was early enough where I can cut them some slack for dealing with the technology and changes to overall in game systems and was probably done for those reasons over cynical greed. After the inter-generational trading being established for so long to became the norm and with exponentially improved technology I can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt on it and absolutely believe they are fucking it up on purpose. That's what I don't like about defending the idea of not having every Pokemon coded in - it basically gives them an out to say "We actually did it for THIS reason and not the screw you consumers reason, obviously!" and the more people are complacent about it the quicker it's gonna happen. I generally agree about the games having 400ish or whatever Pokemon specific to being caught WITHIN the region for game-play/balance, but they should still be able to be traded into the game. The Dexit pushback probably at least slowed the decline.
