You know, if I was relic hunting, I'd dig it all... but I can't tell you how many times I tested this theory in parks only to dig up an 8" deep soda or beer can.... now, if they were still full, I'd have to update my theory ;)

I think these are copper, as brass is very brittle and could not be bent like this without cracking
@@ParkMetalDetecting brass is less than copper but still worth keeping a bucket, but if they are copper that's better, put a deep.scratch into one, you will be able to tell if it's copper

I have a razor sharp digging tool with teeth that I have filed very sharp it cuts roots like butter.... Try using a file and sharpen your hand digging tool and see what happens.... Good luck and great job on your videos...

You need to forget the copper pointer you waste a lot of time using it.. Just use your hand digging tool and pop out the coins..
I agree that the coin probe can be slow but it has also been pretty past with me digging up three coins in less than 60 seconds. Watch some of my shorts and you will see what I mean. I agree in this school grounds most of the coins were to deep for the probe. But I sometimes film it to show that. If hunting private property, some people will not let you use a shovel or for that matter a hand digger in their yard. Have you tried the drywall saw hack on roots?

Turn your PP off after each use. If they lay on the surface while turned on they can go into lost mode or give weird readings.
That is true. What I found out on mine the other day is that the foam button on the inside of the cap was almost worn off... I replace it and now it's good! : )
UPDATE ON GARRETT: My Garrett seemed to have had a loose battery as the foam dot on the screw cap was flattened out. Replace the foam, and now it's working like new!🎉😎🎉 I'll be doing a short video on the symptoms and fixing it soon! Also, Going to switch over to some wireless headphones and reduce the volume on the Garrett pinpointer so you guys will no longer be annoyed by all the beeping ( you'll still hear it but at 50% less volume!)
Minelab 40. Why very good on power. Fisher pulse ip6 is good but expensive. 50/50 on this😂 so lotto win I got paid for the lot and I have 35 or yellow one in Minelab as well all good in my book.

@@ParkMetalDetecting ok never had a problem with minelab 40was a birthdays job both good 35 is adage 40 is good others off the chart. Vevor was avg ate power up fast. But cheap that one 25.00 still did the job.

I have the Xterra too. And I’m a pretty newbie as well. How do you tell the size of the target before it is dug up? Thanks for your help!
A good habit to get into is to lift the coil while watching the depth meter on the side... It will not change much if the target is big and you may be able to raise it up pretty high over the target... If you are digging relics you dig everything but if you're in a local park you don't want to be digging 2 foot holes. So we aim for it to be proportional as you raise the coil the depth will go up meaning it's a small target... But sometimes a very small target will say it's deeper than what it really is. If you use a shovel, which I love to use, is to always recheck the hole if it's clean it's always in the plug, and that will save time. Also, get yourself a brass coin probe as it will save you a ton of time... I have quite a few videos on how to use one! @schmitt313 Good question! Round targets usually lock in better... iregular ones like pull tabs will be more jumpy. And some times small bits of iron in the ground near your target can do this and even change the VID #'s. Did you do the latest update to your Xterra pro yet? It seems to have helped stabilize the numbers more!

All vdi are rock solid. Ps pays to pick a target and go for it in notch if not much around just hit horse shoe button only way to go goes for rings as well 800 I use 11 12 23 24 28 that's it boom 3 x 400 .00 dollar rings 1.00 and 2.00 just add 21 22 vdi got the best of both worlds last park 65.00 bucks and 3 💍 ring's.
Lat two cuttings having a lot of problems with the Garrett pinpointer! It keeps falseing!!! I did notice that the rubber plug inside was worn half way so I put a 25 cent piece in between it and the battery... haven't tested it yet... hmm?

The 4" Tires soak up most of the bumps. I have a video of it taking on an intermediate dirt trail, and it climbed better than my K1 21-speed mountain bike!

What's the cost? @@digginggopher The minimum voltage for a standard lithium polymer (LiPo) battery cell is 3.2 volts (V), and it can be permanently damaged if it goes below that. How many volts is your battery? I know on my RC hobby charger I can lower the voltage.

Man you are so close but I thought all we needed was 3000 watch time hrs to get monetized. Good amount of clad scored and a little bit of this and that.. Happy Hunting. Peace
KZread is two parts in watch hours: 3,000 hours to sell stuff and sell memberships, etc and 4,000 hours for full monetization and get paid so much per 1,000 clicks which I've seen in the $9 to $30+ range. Our channel became fully monetized on June 16th. I am finding that bigger videos get "twice" as many watch hours... Reason I went with 30+ minute ones. I may go back to shorter ones now so I can get more clicks and longer retention time with 8 to 12 minute ones. Hope that helps... Thanks Danny!

I had a flat tire about 10 days ago while heading metal detecting, started to go back home but decided to go metal detecting anyhow, glad I did a found a 15 gram gold necklace on the beach .

It was 24 inches long with a crucifix , 14k , haven't sold it yet but value is around 685 dollars.
Why don't you just shake the sand out of your scoop to find the object or coin ?That's what the other handel on your scoop is for.

We all start at that level.... It will pick up but only if you keep making your channel better and more searchable! Look at my oldest videos... Yuck! I have been slowly updating my old videos with better thumbnails and keywords.... Yes you can do it later as these will get more search clicks. Most all of my videos get from 5 to 10% ongoing keyword search clicks.... But, again you need to put in these keywords in all your videos...even if you do it later than in the beginning ; ) I've noticed that I get double the watch hours if I make my videos in the 30+ minute range compared to just 10 or 20 minutes. Right now I'm running three different thumbnails in the free KZread tester. I wish it would give me a running count on which one is better... Really don't want to have to wait for two weeks to find out!

Probably because I DNK and they are hard to see the difference for my old eyes ; ) Thanks! State quarters From 1999-2008, the U.S. Mint released 50 state quarters, each featuring a unique design on the reverse side that commemorated the state. The quarters were released in the order that the states joined the Union. Memorial quarters From 2010-2021, the U.S. Mint released 56 America the Beautiful quarters, each featuring a scene from a national park or forest on the reverse side. The quarters were released in the order that the park or site became a national site.
I did not know this about our latter quarters. I thought they were all called State Quarters. I leaved something new! Thanks!

Sand was still damp, so it didn't sift very well... up in the umbrella area, it was dry. I checked in a few areas their but it was pretty crowded because we had a late start. What areas do you prefer to search?

I picked up my Equinox 900 slightly used (20 minutes) with two coils for $770 on eBay. Buy still live using the Xterra Pro too!
I've only been able to use the X Terra for just about 20 minutes. What do you think of it. Have you found some nice Coins and Relics with it.
