Natural World: 4K, 8K, HDR, Films
I'm a retired professional photographer & digital artist- among other things. In the last several years, I've been making a lot of 3D films- particularly underwater. In 2016, I decided to start making time lapse films, as well. My son Ryan accompanies me on my travels and assists with the equipment and filming.
This channel features both 2D and 3D films shot from various locations chosen for their unique beauty both by day and lately by night. I particularly like shooting time lapse at night, so expect to see much more of it in the future. As each of these projects takes about 5 months to shoot and another month to edit, there will be some time in between the films.

Hi, sorry for the delayed response. The night you day- Holly grail- sequences were done using the Sony time lapse app which I had downloaded into the cameras. It has settings which worked well for this sort of thing.

Surreal was the goal of this film! And yes, I did composite and animate the moon in that sequence- but don't tell anybody :) Compositing, gamma, and color shifts, etc. we're also used in other sequences to achieve the desired effect. All the elements are real and not CGI, however, in several scenes, there is extensive compositing, color and gamma modifications. Not trying to fool anyone, just trying to create art and beauty.

What camera and slider that are you using? It's really really beautiful footage
Thanks Hassan! For this film, I used 3 Sony A7RII cameras. Each had a different lens- Sony 28mm 2.0, Sony 55mm 1.8, & Zeiss Batis 18mm 2.8. I very rarely use sliders and prefer to do all movement in post- Ken Burns effect.
Do you sell your Footage on Platform such us pond5, shutterstock, pixabay, etc?
I haven't done that yet on those platforms, but do license content to cable TV channels, and networks, and anyone else who contacts me through the channel and makes a fair offer.

Very beautiful! But this is not a real movie. In those places where the foreground was filmed, there can be no such milky way:(
Thank you for watching and commenting and you are correct in that the film in several scenes uses compositing and field of view blending of night sky sequences taken by us at other locations with different fields of view than the foreground images. This film, unlike some others on the channel, was meant to be more of an artistic, idealized, expression and is intended to showcase ultra high res HDR in a night sky film. It is at its best when viewed on an HDR capable TV.

The foreground was blended with seperately taken milky way footage right?
You are correct. The reasons for that, are that it is not possible to get a perfect foreground image in the 15-25 seconds the lens is opened for the sky exposures. The foreground will be very grainy and noisy. So, the foreground should be taken separately with a MUCH longer exposure when done at night, or be taken before dark at a shorter exposure time. Since I planned to make this an 8K film, I wanted to use perfectly exposed, tack sharp, foreground images. I also, for artistic reasons, used FOV (field of view) blending at times, using foregrounds taken at different FOVs than the night sky sequences. One of the primary purposes of this film was to showcase high res time lapse graded as HDR. PS: We're planning on doing some filming next summer on Vancouver Island. Hoping to be able to make a film featuring the wildlife in tha area. Really looking forward to it!
