I was really disappointed that they left out the letter that he wrote her in the end. I felt like it should have been narrated by Clint while you see Merl reading it. If you haven’t read the book, the letter is worth reading.

I was driving home one afternoon when this movie came out and was quite popular. I had Dr. Laura on the radio. Out of nowhere she starts trashing this movie; saying no one should see it because of its moral shortcomings. She was quite the morality cop on the beat quickly lining herself up to be a darling the right--well, until her nude pictures and the lowdown on her illicit affair with a married man hit the headlines. Then there were the other extramarital affairs and check out the biblical romance between her and the second man she married-after living with him for nine years. I couldn't find that in our Bible at the house here. What's up with that??? She also tells her callers not to do that by the way. So the bottom line is, if you're confused about all of this just watch the movie and disregard anyone who claims to be better than the rest of us after proving themselves otherwise.

I was with somebody like this. The situation was more complex. We had great time. So I'm not so great. But in the end, I had my heart broke. She went back. I now can't help but constantly have the distinct feeling that I'm lost. Before anyone thinks about fantasizing about how great this would be, maybe they should take it from someone who has lived it.

I watched this movie so many times with mother and always asked myself this question about going or not but Francesca sacrificed herself , the love of her life for the love of her family, I tried to be like her but I couldn’t because in the end we wish to be loved back... it’s an incredible beautiful love story!
