The great Sam Farthing taught a class at Django in June and showed us how to play those first two licks that Eddie plays in his solo. Too cool!

I can not catch up Bireli 's left hand. He jumped here and there, change the positions, break out his licks in milliseconds but look so calm. Awesome!

Hey - this is the best minor swing cover on you tube. I'm particularly interested in the second part of your video, where you are playing the chords behind Grappeli's solo. It seems like you are quoting Django on the record -- and it's perfect. Is there any way you could post a transcription of the various substitutions you are using? I can read and play the easy charts, but I want to understand what you are doing. Is there a site or other way I could learn what's going on? It's not just the straight A-6, D-6, E7 ... all kinds of interesting stuff happening. Thank you in advance!

Why, why, why is it always, "My virtuoso has a bigger dick than your virtuoso?" Especially when guitar is the featured instrument?! This is such an unnuanced way of experiencing art. Art indeed has a minimum technical requirement-- some kinds more than others-- but facility is never an end in itself, nor is it necessary to achieve the greatest level of expression. Knowing when not to (over) play is also a technique.

Well, thats ok to show what you feel sometimes :-) but to be UNhappy all the time and never to smile while you do play music (which is a great gift to be able to do) this has nothing to do with either europe or america. Believe me this child IS definately under pressure .. he is the grandgrandson of Django Reinhardt, so there are lots of pressures to fill up all expectations of his family.

WTF is wrong with the PA or whatever they're running through? This is awesome playing ruined by a horrible soundman... Schafer's guitar sounds like it's fuzzed and was too loud, Bireli started way to low, bah.
