I'm just a big fan of The Band
The channel came about because there was a time when I was very interested in The Band bootlegs, and it bothered me that they weren't as accessible, so I decided to publish them so that any fan of The Band looking for those bootlegs would find them easier

Wow fantastic thanks
Thank god Laszlo Kovacs removed his headset to ignore Scorsese's incessant prattle, otherwise his camera wouldn't have captured this for the film.
wow, Ronnie's slide sounds awesome. What a great way to entertain the crown and give The Band a breather before their encore. And that signature Niel Young stomp is a classic. Wish I'd seen him in concert. (I may have in Jacksonville AL in the 1970s with the Stills Young Band, but I don't have a visual memory of that show)
GARTH HUDSON THE BEST MULTIORGANIST OF HISTORY ¡¡¡¡¡
People who don’t understand the civil war of brother against brother and a nation invading and killing its own civilians How life Imitates art With the feud between Levon and Robbie for the remaining part of their life
Recent things in my life I really don't care about God anymore it no longer exists in my life he has forcefully taken from the pillars community who have done dirty things to me since I'm 5 years old and I totally give up on people and life
I am old enough to remember The Last Waltz. I also saw Ronnie Hawkins live in Toronto in 1980 with Alfie Zappacosta. The Band got their name because they were Ronnie Hawkins and the Band.
Fantastic heart felt From Nova Scotia. May the Spirts bless us .
😢
If you don’t like this, you’re a communist or something! \X\ ♥️
Absolute masterpiece. Goose bumps every time.
Love them all are gone except one. Sad.
When expressing the longings all of us feel most deeply during our vulnerable youth, when we cannot understand why our feelings are not reciprocated, when we discover our hearts are broken and there is no one to tell, Ontario boy Rick Danko is chosen by The Band to convey their most deeply felt lyrics. He has company. Watch Neil Young during his Last Waltz performance, also from Ontario and the same age as Rick. Their eyes meet as Neil sings “Helpless.” People who are aware of Neil Young’s towering ego were caught off guard when their hero encountered a kindred spirit. That spirit has flown but we still see him in the Northern Lights.
made me tearful that ❤
It's simply a masterpiece.
A life ::: what is it but good memories:: as you get older memories are all you have so make them whilst you can 😊
Levon, awesome!
Gold.
This is a song for all who suffered through the Civil War and lost friends, family, homes, and the challenges of rebuilding their lives.
That's why people love them. Plain and simple. Pure and honest.
As a POC, I adore this song
He rocked the whole crowd. What a show!!!!!

So sad , now Robbie is gone😊
close to almost 50 years, and we have some new footage,,,,,AMAZING,,,!
Beautiful words my men known for such. Genius like this doesn't grow on trees folks.
Awesome Talent love it!!
Now this is a hit
I wasn't there but I assure you the quality of sound and atmosphere doesn't compare to any modern band amongst any genre. Fn levon Helm Robbie and co with a brass section and van the man. Yeah I shoulda been born back then 🤘🤘
No doubt van the man slayed back in the day 🤣🤘🤘this performance is professional quality musicians at its finest. They are incredible and a reason they are The Band🔥🔥🔥🍻
My love for this song isn’t because it romanticizes Southern sins. But it reminds me that none of us can ever go home again. When the moment passes, it’s over forever. This song urges me to love earnestly, to live honestly, and to forgive completely.
Love it
...Goodnight...Good bye...that's what I tell my dig when begs for more treats than I'm gonna give him...Good Night...and...Good Bye...
Last year I submitted these recordings to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. They vowed to preserve The Hawks' Port Dover Recording in their archives. Very pleased that my recording work of Levon and The Hawks will live forever for future musicians and fans to enjoy..
You recorded this?!!! You're a damn hero, man.
Is that an old Indian line? " You take what you need, and you leave the rest."
Moving but I'm still a little confused as to who in fact wrote the song. I've heard conflicting versions on how the song actually was created and by whom.
@@rainers.2080 Robbie wrote the song and Levon made a couple of adjustments since he was the only American in the group.
They are still driving Old Dixie down...
