You can see the advantage of having a mirrored wall in the dojo to see what the Sensei is doing when they have their back to you. Too often I'm having to step out of formation to catch a peek to actually see the hand positions or movements and it's not such an ideal thing to do.

Love the Okinawa Karate... not happy with @0:22 But he does then go on to show them how to hold the fist correctly. I believe more emphasis needs to be put on this. Absolutely love the tonfa too... probably my favorite weapon. Thank you for the video.

Thanks for your reply and your thoughts on this. The instruction here is more for the experience and of course in a regular class things would be very different. You have a very good eye for detail and we appreciate your reply. Yes tonfa is a great weapon ! Have you visited Okinawa?

@@okinawakaratemasters5776 No I have not. It is one of my greatest regrets in life. I thought I was going to a few years ago but life happened. Maybe one day in the future. I would love that. I also noticed the authentic Okinawan Nunchacu,. Very nice.

@@slopsec2358 Sensei has been teaching from this dojo for 45yrs. You may also notice Samurai armour. It is authentic and many generations old. It is never too late to visit Okinawa. It is the birthplace of Karate and more than you could ever Dream of! It is paradise.

@@okinawakaratemasters5776 Thank you. I missed that the first time, but it just gave me a reason to watch the video once again. I have a Japanese friend who I've known since 1969, and I asked her today if she would interested in taking a trip to Okinawa with me. She said she has been thinking just recently that she would like to take a trip back to Japan, but currently is not able due to personal reasons. Who knows, Maybe one day we may show up at your doorstep. I would love to meet all of you.

Only 3 weeks out of knee surgery but your videos are helping so much. Thank you. It’s been over 10 years since my dojo shut down, I’ve got 10 years invested into Goju Ryu so it’s tough to give up on it. Plus I wouldn’t be half the person I am today without it so I’m extremely thankful. Even though I’m still in crutches, training restarts today. Thank you again.

I just turned 40 a few months ago… up until a few weeks ago, I hadn’t taken a karate class in decades. I signed up for Shorin Ryu unknowingly and saw one kata that I fell in love with. I’m currently in my second week and it’s tough but awesome. What an amazing inspiration you are, sir. Thank you.
