  They tax us because we’re no believers. They dont say what will happen bc we dont believe. At that point if they wish to do so they will come for our wifes and daughters. And there is nothing we can do. If we refuse to pay or refuse to convert the second time they will enslave us and kill us. This reminds me of Rome taxing the jews. And what they would do to them if they didnt tax. But worse. And btw a sales tax an income tax and social security is way different than Jizya. Stop simplifying it. Were not stupid.

  It doesn’t exist anymore and hasn’t been in place for about 300 years now. Also it was only a tax for non Muslim men for exemption of military service. Women, elderly disabled didn’t need to pay it. "People of the Book" (Ahl al-Kitab), i.e. Jews and Christians, were allowed to live securely in their autonomous communities and to develop. Legally speaking, Jews shared with other non-Muslims the status of dhimmis, or "protected people." In return for security, freedom of religion, and communal autonomy they were required by the Quran to pay an annual poll tax called ‘Jizya’. They were free to practice their religion, have marriage and finances. Unlike the Christians who forced conversion or otherwise mass exiled/killed Muslims under their rule during the Spanish Inquisition. (Search “forced conversion of Muslims in Spain”, “mass expulsion of the Moriscos”).

  I disagree with Omar Suleiman. Getting married is better for the couple instead of continuously being in a relationship they the couple themselves feel guilt and shame but at the same time angry pf why they can't just marry. Them going in a halal way of a nikah. Anf they don't have to decide to live together but being aware and taking the relationship more seriously will help the couple with their spirituality. And if they separate that is better than being in a haram relationship ship for years and feeling shame, it will cause harm their soul. But divorce is not an end of the world. I think Omar Suleiman sees divorce as something shameful, but in islam there is no saying that Allah would not like people to divorce. It's only that people are putting this idea into the religion. Divorce is nore good nore bad. Islam guide us on everything, and divorce is one of them.
