It's just a hallow cheap peace of poop plastic mold with missing detailing it's like they quit halfway. McFarlane has gotten real lazy he was all about detailing a great paint job now he's just like every other toy company.

I wouldn’t go that far, but to each their own. There is definitely a good vehicle here, but it could have been a lot better. However, when you consider bang for your buck, it’s still a better offering dollar for dollar when you consider what other companies offer regularly. Most wouldn’t even attempt a vehicle this size at retail. Again, that’s not to say McFarlane couldn’t have stepped it up. Thanks for your thoughts and for watching!

If Neca made a new line with different packaging, it would be neat, but only if they also gave us an ultimate version as well. Now we have a single figure from a completely different line instead of the ultimate.

Exactly. The only good thing about this release is that it’s technically a better version of the figures that came out in the early 2000s. During San Diego Comic-Con NECA revealed that they’re also re-releasing the gurney version where Hannibal Lecter is strapped up with his face mask. Outside of the updated deco, there’s nothing new.

Luckily I got this as soon as it went up for pre order. I was upset it was an exclusive but it was a sacrifice I had to make lmao. Definitely worth it now that I have it especially since the Dark Knight Trilogy is my favorite. Great video and unboxing.

I’m glad you were able to snag one! One thing about Mcfarlane exclusives is that usually you only have one good opportunity to get them easily at the start and then after that they never wind up releasing again. I knew I would likely regret if I passed the Tumbler up, so the choice was easy for me! It’s my favorite Batmobile as well! Thanks for watching!

I'm right with you! It's definitely good for what it is, but a little more effort would have gone a long way. The Tumbler itself is really only $70-75, so I wonder what McFarlane would have given us if they skipped out in Lucius and put the extra money into more details and features.

I don't collect their 1/4 scale figures, but that would be a sight to behold. Come to think of it Outside of their 1/4 TMNT Movie and Cartoon Figures, they really haven't put much emphasis on that scale. They just announced a 1/4 better Juice, but that is just a rerelease of a figure from well over a decade ago at this point!

I 100% agree. That's the biggest reason I did the head swaps. Just imagine if they gave us articulated figure based on his different looks from the film. You could squeeze out at least three different figures as far as I'm concerned. If you do get the figure let me know if you try the head swaps for yourself!

I don’t really have any standard sized Marvel Selects in my collection, but I do own quite a few diamonds select offerings. He’s about eight inches so I imagine he should be about a half inch to an inch taller than most Marvel Selects. I hope this helps!

They've been doing it a lot lately and not just with older Cult Classics figures like Beetle Juice and House of A 1000 Corpses. I believe the recently released Ultimate Lily Munster figure is a statue below the waist and I'm 95% sure NECA new Krampus figure will only have articulation only in the arms and head and maybe the torso for the price of $100...

Great review and some solid recommendations with interchangeability. I'm with you Alan, I just have a hard time seeing the value in the re-release of this figure without the articulation. A few months ago when McFarlane Toys released images of their World of Warcraft and Diablo non-posable figures, I feel like there was a fan backlash against that direction of statue like figures. It's not that I don't want those IP's or Hannibal, but the early 2000's McFarlane Movie Maniacs statue type figures, and this release of older NECA figures just doesn't seem like a great direction in my opinion - not the licensing, just the execution.

I love this set, the colors pop and the goofyness in the expressions make it more likeable for me. Mezco you have collected over it is never accurate to the reference, it's always their own take and mix of things. Price is definitely debatable, and that was true for OG set too; I think $80 per turtle was a sweet spot. No soft goods was a bummer but they cut costs for MDX releases normally as the units made are limited.

Good points all around. I get that Mezco always takes liberties with their figure designs especially when the property doesn’t have just one definitive look. However, since these are animated inspired, I would have appreciated if they gave us more animated inspired accessories beyond the extra heads. Were you able to scoop up their Casey Jones? But I have a feeling those figures would be store exclusives. I would be down for all of those, but I think I would have to tap out on the Foot Ninja if they ever get to them. I just can't imagine army building for $100+ a pop.

I will say it does look a lot better in hand. The promotional images didn't do them justice. However, the odd accessory choices and lack of soft goods, make you wonder why Mezco charged the same amount as the original boxset.

Hmm... that's about $640 USD. Personally, unless you really love the look of these turtles I wouldn't go much past $100 to $150 over retail. $200 over retail is the absolute max, but you really have to be sure you want it that badly. Honestly, as good as these figures are I think you should wait for a better deal or another good variation of the Turtles from Mezco. I hope that helps! Thank you of watching!

I bought the first mezco set. They were great and I didn't mind paying AU $850 for it. But I can't justify doing the same for these, especially with their lack of accessories. Would have been good if these figures each came with a hat and trench coat

It's odd that they would suddenly just not receive a shipment of one of the most hotly anticipated releases of the year. Even If Mezco doesn't release this set again, I have a sneaking suspicion that we will get another variant set inspired by the mirage comics featuring the all four turtles with red bandanas.

It's odd that as of late NECA has been going back to single jointed elbows and knees for several of their newer figures. Even still, I find that they have a bit more range than a typical Four Horsemen figure. If articulation was stepped up, these figures would be close to perfect. Thanks for watching as always!

Those are the Adult Demon Spawn from NECA's Ash Vs Evil Dead Action figure line from 2019 I believe. They are among NECA's best from that short-lived series, but they are a bit pricey these days. I hope that helps!

Very true. The other problem is that Mezco stays radio silent, so there is no telling on if they'll ever rerelease this set or other highly sought after figures. They did put Popeye back out for those who missed it the first go round, so there may be hope for this set too. I personally think we're in store for a Mezco Red Bandana Turtle set the before the year's end and possibly a black and white comic inspired version. Thank you for your thoughts and for watching!

I did. lt’s the first Predator SDCC exclusive we’ve had since 2020 so I’m glad the line is getting a little more love, but I definitely have some things to say about the paint job and a few key missing accessories. Trust and believe I will be reviewing it on my channel as soon as it comes out. I anticipate it being between $45 and $50. I hope I’m wrong!

So many mixed emotions with this set xD annoyed I missed out; relieved I don't have to deal with that box and buyer's remorse; green with envy seeing reviews of it; sigh of relief not having to figure out which accessories to use and which to leave in the box 😂 Saying all that, apparently in the UK, I have heard there was an error with the figures where two of the four were a duplicate. I heard this from the local area Mezco / NECA rep whole he visited my local indie toy shop. I don't know how true that is bc he was saying suppliers/Mezco were asking for the WHOLE order to be returned as opposed to a more targeted solution. So yeah... def mixed emotions. But I still LOVE the look of it. If they ever do a red masks variant... I'm gonna have a tough decision to make. (But let's be honest, if I have the £400 and it's in-stock it's getting bought lol) Not able to watch the video right now, Al, but I will tomorrow morning or afternoon 👌

Sorry to hear that you missed out, but I have a strong suspicion that in addition to the cartoon style guide variant they just released we will get to more variations of this set.: A Mirage Comics inspired Red Bandana set for New York Comic-Con and a Black and White Red Bandana boxset exclusive to their website Jan 12, 2025 for Mezco One:12 Day. Hopefully I didn't mislead you with my review. I was just saying you could upgrade him with the helmet which came with the baby turtles accessory set. Your best bet is to look for a third party seller willing to part ways with helmet. Listings are fairly common on eBay if you are willing to go that route. I hope this helps.

At least for now, the Bear Blood Feral Predator is a Haulathon/Target Exclusive release. Typically these types of exclusives don't make their way to other retailers aside from third party sellers. At the time of making this post it's out of stock online however, I still see photos from people finding it in stores, so if you're interested in this version of the Feral Predator, I would suggest popping into any nearby Target stores. That is Tonto from NECA’s Lone Ranger line released back in 2013 I believe. They released two versions of the character. He’s a really great figure.

Respectfully, I disagree that this was a smart business decision. I’ve seen a few posts online from people who have been able to find the bear blood version, but do not own the original. Even still, the accessories on the original while compatible do not match the cloak/bloody paint job, so aesthetically it doesn’t make sense that way either. I believe NECA could very easily have added the bolt gun and both versions of the shield to this release without charging more and then this version would still be missing seven additional accessories. At the end of the day while I’m a fan of NECA and this figure, I am pro-consumer all the way. A company should never be charging the same amount and giving you less, especially if it’s essentially the same ultimate figure. I just want anyone who watches my review to make a well informed decision before purchasing this figure, I thank you for leaving your thoughts and for watching. I really appreciate it!

I'm right with you! It's definitely good for what it is, but a little more effort would have gone a long way. The Tumbler itself is really only $70-75, so I wonder what McFarlane would have given us if they skipped out in Lucius and put the extra money into more details and features.
One wonders how to make a custom Azeem from Robin Hood Prince of thieves!
I bet you out could repurpose parts from McFarlane's Princess Bride figures along with some custom soft goods and I imagine you would be half way there!

I knew I couldn't pass this one up when it went up fro preorder. I'm glad to have it as it's probably my favorite Bat Mobile of all the films. I also have the camp version preordered, but Amazon is delaying the fulfillment for some reason.

I don't collect their 1/4 scale figures, but that would be a sight to behold. Come to think of it Outside of their 1/4 TMNT Movie and Cartoon Figures, they really haven't put much emphasis on that scale. They just announced a 1/4 better Juice, but that is just a rerelease of a figure from well over a decade ago at this point!

I 100% agree. That's the biggest reason I did the head swaps. Just imagine if they gave us articulated figure based on his different looks from the film. You could squeeze out at least three different figures as far as I'm concerned. If you do get the figure let me know if you try the head swaps for yourself!

Does it scale well with the marvel selects?
I don’t really have any standard sized Marvel Selects in my collection, but I do own quite a few diamonds select offerings. He’s about eight inches so I imagine he should be about a half inch to an inch taller than most Marvel Selects. I hope this helps!

Fantastic ideas on how to improve the statue (or if you're Todd McFarlane "pre-posed action figure" lol) so much so that I went from being indifferent toward it to wanting to buy it and the various other figures to improve it 😂

Surprised at NECA phoning it on with this re-elease. Yikes.
They've been doing it a lot lately and not just with older Cult Classics figures like Beetle Juice and House of A 1000 Corpses. I believe the recently released Ultimate Lily Munster figure is a statue below the waist and I'm 95% sure NECA new Krampus figure will only have articulation only in the arms and head and maybe the torso for the price of $100...
Great review and some solid recommendations with interchangeability. I'm with you Alan, I just have a hard time seeing the value in the re-release of this figure without the articulation. A few months ago when McFarlane Toys released images of their World of Warcraft and Diablo non-posable figures, I feel like there was a fan backlash against that direction of statue like figures. It's not that I don't want those IP's or Hannibal, but the early 2000's McFarlane Movie Maniacs statue type figures, and this release of older NECA figures just doesn't seem like a great direction in my opinion - not the licensing, just the execution.
I 100% agree! I really hope this review gains more traction to let NECA that if they plan on reviving the Cult Classics library of figures then we want those older figures upgraded with modern articulation. Thanks for watching!

No Problem. I didn't go in depth about how they are used in this review, but I did during my video on the original Mezco boxset. Learning more about the weapons is half the fun sometimes.
I love this set, the colors pop and the goofyness in the expressions make it more likeable for me. Mezco you have collected over it is never accurate to the reference, it's always their own take and mix of things. Price is definitely debatable, and that was true for OG set too; I think $80 per turtle was a sweet spot. No soft goods was a bummer but they cut costs for MDX releases normally as the units made are limited.
Good points all around. I get that Mezco always takes liberties with their figure designs especially when the property doesn’t have just one definitive look. However, since these are animated inspired, I would have appreciated if they gave us more animated inspired accessories beyond the extra heads. Were you able to scoop up their Casey Jones? I just can't imagine army building for $100+ a pop.
@@alanthecollector Kraang would be great too. I think Foot soldiers would have less chance to be done as it's a commoner. If they do they might do a $120 double pack with more focus on weapons etc. Still, I feel it's hard to happen.

I will say it does look a lot better in hand. The promotional images didn't do them justice. However, the odd accessory choices and lack of soft goods, make you wonder why Mezco charged the same amount as the original boxset.

I really wonder what the thought process was behind that decision. I think for the price they really could have added an extra head for each of the turtles, especially since they didn't include any soft goods with this set.

Hmm... that's about $640 USD. Personally, unless you really love the look of these turtles I wouldn't go much past $100 to $150 over retail. $200 over retail is the absolute max, but you really have to be sure you want it that badly. Honestly, as good as these figures are I think you should wait for a better deal or another good variation of the Turtles from Mezco. I hope that helps! Thank you of watching!
I bought the first mezco set. They were great and I didn't mind paying AU $850 for it. But I can't justify doing the same for these, especially with their lack of accessories. Would have been good if these figures each came with a hat and trench coat
And yes, if they do another variation, like a mirage style with red bandanna, I will consider buying them

It's odd that they would suddenly just not receive a shipment of one of the most hotly anticipated releases of the year. Even If Mezco doesn't release this set again, I have a sneaking suspicion that we will get another variant set inspired by the mirage comics featuring the all four turtles with red bandanas.

Love the look of 4H figs but it's a shame, that like NECA, they don't care as much about the mobility of their figures as they do the aesthetics.
It's odd that as of late NECA has been going back to single jointed elbows and knees for several of their newer figures. Even still, I find that they have a bit more range than a typical Four Horsemen figure. If articulation was stepped up, these figures would be close to perfect. Thanks for watching as always!

Those are the Adult Demon Spawn from NECA's Ash Vs Evil Dead Action figure line from 2019 I believe. They are among NECA's best from that short-lived series, but they are a bit pricey these days. I hope that helps!
Mezco did their thing. While their toon version set was divisive, their OG set is undeniably head and shoulders above most TMNT figs. Also,I've watched a lot of reviews of these guys. From big reviewers to small. But your review oozes(pun intended) personality! Keep up the good work!

Very true. The other problem is that Mezco stays radio silent, so there is no telling on if they'll ever rerelease this set or other highly sought after figures. They did put Popeye back out for those who missed it the first go round, so there may be hope for this set too. I personally think we're in store for a Mezco Red Bandana Turtle set the before the year's end and possibly a black and white comic inspired version. Thank you for your thoughts and for watching!

I did. lt’s the first Predator SDCC exclusive we’ve had since 2020 so I’m glad the line is getting a little more love, but I definitely have some things to say about the paint job and a few key missing accessories. Trust and believe I will be reviewing it on my channel as soon as it comes out. I anticipate it being between $45 and $50. I hope I’m wrong!

So many mixed emotions with this set xD annoyed I missed out; relieved I don't have to deal with that box and buyer's remorse; green with envy seeing reviews of it; sigh of relief not having to figure out which accessories to use and which to leave in the box 😂 Saying all that, apparently in the UK, I have heard there was an error with the figures where two of the four were a duplicate. I heard this from the local area Mezco / NECA rep whole he visited my local indie toy shop. I don't know how true that is bc he was saying suppliers/Mezco were asking for the WHOLE order to be returned as opposed to a more targeted solution. So yeah... def mixed emotions. But I still LOVE the look of it. If they ever do a red masks variant... I'm gonna have a tough decision to make. (But let's be honest, if I have the £400 and it's in-stock it's getting bought lol) Not able to watch the video right now, Al, but I will tomorrow morning or afternoon 👌

Hopefully I didn't mislead you with my review. I was just saying you could upgrade him with the helmet which came with the baby turtles accessory set. Your best bet is to look for a third party seller willing to part ways with helmet. Listings are fairly common on eBay if you are willing to go that route. I hope this helps.

At least for now, the Bear Blood Feral Predator is a Haulathon/Target Exclusive release. Typically these types of exclusives don't make their way to other retailers aside from third party sellers. At the time of making this post it's out of stock online however, I still see photos from people finding it in stores, so if you're interested in this version of the Feral Predator, I would suggest popping into any nearby Target stores. That is Tonto from NECA’s Lone Ranger line released back in 2013 I believe. They released two versions of the character. He’s a really great figure.
Neca assumed whoever purchased this figure already purchased the original one so why bother with new accessories that’s smart business decisions
Respectfully, I disagree that this was a smart business decision. I’ve seen a few posts online from people who have been able to find the bear blood version, but do not own the original. Even still, the accessories on the original while compatible do not match the cloak/bloody paint job, so aesthetically it doesn’t make sense that way either. I believe NECA could very easily have added the bolt gun and both versions of the shield to this release without charging more and then this version would still be missing seven additional accessories. At the end of the day while I’m a fan of NECA and this figure, I am pro-consumer all the way. A company should never be charging the same amount and giving you less, especially if it’s essentially the same ultimate figure. I just want anyone who watches my review to make a well informed decision before purchasing this figure, I thank you for leaving your thoughts and for watching. I really appreciate it!
