I find peace in myself and reconnection with my inner warrior to get back into Shinkyokushin karate. Samurais are ancient very powerful and strong warriors. We have honorary ones but they’re obsolete now because we don’t need them anymore. Still I admire them very much. They’re such an integral part of Japanese culture.

I practice martial arts like Shinkyokushin karate, The Ultimate Truth literally. What is it? Humility and authenticity. We have a Dojo khun, a lifestyle that guides our training. We strive to be as humble, authentic and respectful as possible. We also strive to be ready to fight with our lives. A martial art full contact knockdown like this one is a fight to defend ourselves and be ready to take a hit. It’s mostly a defensive, counter attacking and absorbing attacks kind of art. This meditation reminded me of this Japanese art. Samurais are warriors after all. To be able to defend ourselves we must have a strong body, mind and soul, and to be one with our ability to do it. Then we find peace in our hearts.
