    Sorry sweetie, but I don’t care what reporters say. Because here in the States we have a saying that goes like this: “Opinions are like Assholes, EVERYBODY GOT ONE “. So 🖕🏼reporters and critics people watch what they like, not what critics or reporters say.

    Probably because Marvel films have been underperforming since the End Game. Robert Dawney Jr.’s reentry into Marvel, as a villain and Russo brothers as directors, is a great combination making fans excited for another exciting collaboration if everything goes well.

    Not really! I have been following Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s work closely and nowhere does he mention that it’s a modern adaptation of classic Devdas. However, it’s completely okay to make such an assumption specially because modern filmmakers are in one way or another are impacted by classics of Indian cinema whether they confess to it or not.

  • @Sahumerchant

    @@AConvoAboutRev he in one interview denied that it is an adaptation of devadas. But in one more interview he said that, his father asked him to watch devadas and make a film like that. I feel, Arjun Reddy is Sandeep's take on devadas sans chandramukhi..

    When Bollywood chose to be political. Its audiences chose to be political too. Simple. There are other industries where people to a large extent remain neutral and don’t expose them to poltical partisanship. This is what happened to Hollywood too. Shut up and just do your work, don’t preach.

  • @AConvoAboutRev
    @AConvoAboutRevАй бұрын

    Audience has every right to be political specially when they pay their hard earned money to buy tickets. The same goes for the filmmakers, every filmmaker has the right for artistic freedom of expression. However, the problem is with the critics being biased. A film should be reviewed based on its merits not on one’s political biases.

    Thank you for your review. American here and was completely blown away by this film. Vijay Sethupathi is probably my favorite Indian actor and he didn’t disappoint here. I particularly appreciated that the “victim” is given voice and agency in confronting the assailant. It was dealt with a level of dignity that brought the film up to another level.

    Nicely made video. However I disagree with the Sandeep Reddy versus SLB thematic comparison. Not a fan of Heeramandi but I don't see how it glorifies prostitution when it really is about tawaifs who were forced into prostitution. Could the show have focused more on their artistry and participation in the freedom struggle? Sure. Does it really encourage the activity of prostitution through cheap tactics? No. Animal on the other hand stoops really low in every aspect and has zero redemption for anyone.

    I would like to add shahrukh khan movie bazzigar. The movie broke the stereotype of a leading hero to be morally and ethically correct, who can't do anything wrong way back in the 90s and introduced us to the antagonist who is spere heading the film who has Grey shades which was quite shocking for its time and today its a cult film

  • @AConvoAboutRev

    Totally agree. The rooftop scene was a total shock for me and caught everyone by surprise. Post that film, several leading actors did negative roles. Something else I loved about back then was that the trailers never exposed the surprise elements of the film. The rooftop scene was never there in promos/trailers. Nowadays you can see the entire film in one trailer.

    The actors listed here are mostly one-time film wonders, who had one initial big success and then their careers fizzled , before they disappeared into thin air. One exceptionally good actor was Shiny Ahuja. I saw him in a few films about 15 years ago like Who Lame , and it was very unfortunate what followed in his career. A maid accused him of jumping her and this unfortunate incident was carried in all the newspapers, tarnishing his reputation and career forever. A court-case followed after which Shiny was acquitted. What happened to him after this sordid affair draws a blank. Wish he had tried to make a valiant comeback. I'm sure with his good looks and acting ability he would have found more work. We all make mistakes. There's a young boy, who in a moment of weakness, stole some money. He returned the money and begged for forgiveness, but this doesn't make him a thief for life.
