Maybe "Real Music" is like giving the legend status to a song or artist

I feel like a bit too much of this was just discussing why songs were at that gloom index which is literally some superficial automated statistical based list, it is kind of making the video more about this list than sometimes, actual sadness. Like, you talk more about the cause, rather than effect to human emotion. But I don't think that's much of a criticism and I found most of it interesting and sounded about right :)

I did a quick listen to Gabbie Hannah's album because of this video, and nothing describes it more than 2019 gacha life mini movies/amvs. TRUST ME. The lyrics, the instrumental, how the song kinda progresses. Hell, even her voice sounds like it. I listened to a tiny bit of the second one and had the exact same vibe its unbelievable

Its weird to expect legitimately good music from people who never had any talent or real interest in this industry to begin with, but there are alot of actual youtube music channels that upload their songs as videos quite often. Channels like Miracle of Sound, Dan Bull, JT music, Stupendium, etc., channels that write stuff like game-themed fan songs. Of course you could argue that "FNAF VS FORTNITE RAP BATTLE" kind of songs are not real music either, to which I agree with you totally, but aside from cringey stuff like that there's a ton of actually pretty good songs that are enjoyable to listen to even outside of "game inspired fan song" context, like most of Gavin Dunne's (Miracle of Sound) songs. Or for example active youtube channels that post covers of other songs in their style, like Ten Second Songs or LittleVMills just to name a few.

I'm finding the complete opposite - I love getting some of my favourite albums off RYM - but there are so many pretentious people online who get so angry when others mention these popular albums - and I now feel like I can't properly enjoy these because I should be listening so some 70's Japanese jazz-funk-fusion record with less than 15,000 total streams that no one rates highly I just want to like what I want even if I might not have an original taste
