My favourite version of this great ballad can be found on the old UK LP "The Rare Sinatra". A marvellous romantic interpretation that builds into something that never dates.

@@glennzottola That sounds right because I would be surprised if he was that lively in the early ninety's
He just got of the hospital from heart surgery !!
@@glennzottola you must be referring to the Nov 1986 operation to remove a 12-inch section of his large intestine...there is no record of him ever having heart surgery
possibly I was told heart surgery but you are probably right and seem to know.

Mr. Zottola...............I have never found this one before. It's so good. I miss Suzanne so much. She had those duets with Barry Manilow that I love. Your orchestra is so wonderful. I love jazz and I also watched your video about your life in jazz. Terrific one as well. Take care and thank you for this one.................................Betsy Basile
HI Betsy , You are very welcome and I also miss Suzanne she was a dear friend but left a beautiful legacy. Glenn
Dear Mr. Zottola.......I just found this video and I knew I had to listen to it as I have seen you a number of times with Suzanne Somers, alone and sometimes with Barry Manilow and I am sure you knew that as a teenager and later, his inspiration was with Jazz. He never thought about being a singer. I love what songs you chose. Maybe you never played in Pottstown, PA at Sunnybrook Ballroom where many of the Big Bands came. As a teenager I saw a number of concerts there and they are trying to fix it up and get good bands there again. I remember seeing Stan Getz and Benny Goodman there. Of course, I played the clarinet and I was pretty good(in our band, 1st chair 1st clarinet). I had to play a number of solos thru my high school years and I was always terrified. I always practiced so much to be sure I memorized all the music correctly. Thank you so much for sharing this great video with us............................Betsy Basile
Hi Betsy thank you yes I did play Sunnybrook Ballroom ! I left high school when I was 17 and went on the road with the Glenn Miler Orchestra Buddy Defranko a great clarinet player was leading the band and later I was with Benny Goodman for 2 years. A great theatre and great people.
I Remember seeing this the night it was on tv franks voice came back for part 1987 1988
Thanks Betsy Frank was a one of a kind :)

Knockout Jazz Glenn . You are an amazing musician . I had the plreasure of backing you in Liverpool ( Albert Dock ) in the past . you where superb then ..
Your sound, your phrasing, as well as your lyricism are indiscernibly similar to that of Stan Getz. What a nice tribute!
Siempre bello y talentoso❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for listening you are a special person👍😇
Thank you very much Mr. Zottola for these episodes you have decided to make. They are a very useful contribution to the history of Jazz. You have a very fine taste which is showed and accompanied by your nice phrasing, articulation, and sound. Just keep going! All the best wishes from Switzerland!
Thank you very much it is all from the heart. I love Switzerland was at Bern and the Schweizerhof 😇
It is quite obvious that it all comes from the heart, and that is why it goes so directly to the hearts. Schweizerhof is a beautiful traditional hotel in Bern. Again all best Regards & wishes from Basel, Switzerland. @@glennzottola
Meraviglioso! Mi sono innamorato la prima volta del suo modo di suonare la tromba tantissimi anni fa dopo aver ascoltato il live tenuto insieme a Bob Wilber. Un caro saluto dalla Sicilia
God bless you Glenn and have fun. 😊
Play so Sara. & Mucy Garland
Il più grande che la storia ricorderà....ciao Frank
When she walks she's like a samba that Swings so cool and sways so gently That when she passes, each one she passes goes "ah!" Look what a beautiful thing, full of grace She is the girl who comes and goes In a sweet swing on the way to the sea Girl with the golden body of the Ipanema sun Her swing is more than a poem It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen happen but see doesn’t se me…😢💔❤️🩹🧡🧡🧡
It amazing how that beautiful gentle music changed the entire music scene in 1964 during very turbulent times Viet Nam and Civil Rights. I am trying to do my best to help that happen again check out my "Summer Samba" album on You Tube but unfortunately it is a different time 😇
Hey there Glenn great video 😊
Wow great story he was so special. I couldn’t believe his concept as a lead player on those Nelson Riddle it felt like a jazz quintet !!!!
what a great cat, snooky. i played in leslie drayton's band with snooky. the band and leslie gave me the cold shoulder 'cause i was from new york. i played a solo. only snooky made sure to compliment me. wow! what an honor. later we talked about pipe tobacco blends. wonderful memory.
Great Story Snooky was amazing playing lead on those Nelson Riddle charts he made them feel like a jazz quintet 😇
Hey Glenn I know your busy with your music 🎶 i just wanted to say hello 👋 oh I just tried out my new bass guitar 🎸 today we are having a blast just jamming together oh ps don’t forget to take a look at the eclipse tomorrow it should be awesome. Take care Carol
Did Manilow, ever help with arranging?
no.
Great playing, Glenn!!
Thanks 😇
Glenn, you sound absolutely great! You dad, looking down, is very proud. I just re-found my Zottola 2C that my late dad gave me. (another italian guy - Tony Ferri). I wanted to do some research on your father's mouthpieces and come across some old Trumpet Herald posts. You were absolutely right in taking Dickman, sorry, I mean Hickman to task over his insulting comments and attack on your Dad. I would've felt the same way. Hope you are doing well.
Thank you 😇
So beautiful 😍 Thanks for sharing ❤
Wow, she really knew how to sing. I didn’t know. RIP Suzanne.
For sure a natural 😇
You have to be born with the passion to reach you're full potential like Glenn did. It's like a pilot light on a stove, a little ever burning flame in your heart that ignites into a big flame of passion when something you hear triggers it. You're either born with it or you're not . Glenn probably heard records of Harry James or Louis Armstrong at a young age and that was it! The rest is history! It's hard work and lots of practice no doubt but it's a gift inside of you. Anyone can learn to play, the difference is the super talented person gets all the green lights in a row and goes and goes and goes. The person with limited talent at some point hits a wall and can't go any further.
Wow Al I am humbled by your comments thank you. Yes my dad was a great musician and exposed me to Louie early on actually a friend of his and Louie was my first mentor. I played 78 records of Louie and Harry and yes that was my foundation my whole career.
