Infamously, the WWE hooked Owen Hart to this device for his entrance at the event Over the Edge, May 23, 1999. Because this device was not meant to support a heavy load, this resulted in Owen falling about 8 stories from the ceiling to the ring below, dying shortly thereafter.

😂 the Kong frog is used in climbing. It holds 22kn and is double safe because of the two locking arms. It is impossible for the dog. You could manage a t-rex with it.

When I do (much easier) mountain walks with my GSD, going up is fine, but she's pulling like hell going down, making things dangerous. Even a single pull at the wrong time is risky. How do you handle these events? Suggestions? Thank you!

Hi! Guinness knows "slow down" and "wait" - these commands help a lot while going down or over a hard terrain. Also a small help is that while going down he's already out of the wild excited energy and is not in a rush to get anywhere at that point ;)

  • @miak9outdoor

Hi, our dogs started when they were already adult. I have no proper knowledge to advise on such matter, you might want to consult a vet. Young dogs cannot overwork as this negatively influence their still growing joints.

I do a lot of hiking with my pit and he is getting too old for the hikes I like to bring him on. Was thinking of getting a German Shepard as a hiking companion in the future. I just didn’t know how the breed would handle mountainous terrain. Watching your video and seeing your dogs handling the terrain well was helpful. Great video!

Shepherds do great in rough terrain! You might have noticed in the videos that our dogs handle it differently, the ginger is all about speed and just hopping from rock to rock while the black one climbs slowly with consideration and picks most comfortable ascend/descend route among rocks.

Pit is not fit for high altitude climbing; too short legs, awkward balance, too short hair, easily scratched, easily salivating and losing body fluid, bad eyesight and relies too much on sniffing. Climbing uphill is taxing, dogs dehydrate quicker, breathe faster, they may walk for hours exposed to direct sun and UV, scratch and injure themselves, etc. You want to minimise on all that. Best option is a breed with decent coat length, with a double coat too, pointed muzzle, agile legs and well defined trot, fine balanced walk, with eye level higher than an average dog and with good eyesight, so that the dog does not rely all the time on its nose to find way. So the German Shepherd is just fine, also some type of mountain dogs.
