    A nice machine for sure! I've seen a lot of Bobcats take some serious abuse of the years and they just seem to keep going. You sure seem to get good use out of it, so money well spent in my book.

    That's a great machine, I'd love to have a small one also. My firewood process changed when I bought my excavator, Komatsu pc35mr-3. 4 ton machine works awesome on my woodlot. Yours would be great for getting into a backyard.

    Good video Bud. I'm glad to see that you reinvested your money from the splitter into this. I'm also jealous of you now!!! 🙂 Gotta have one at some point in my future, but I'm going to have to find one with an enclosed cab.

    Very helpful vid. I wanted to know if my 261 could handle a 25" chain & now I know! Thx for the parts #s too, most appreciated. Until you put on the chaps, you were running with possibly less protective gear than a Pakistani melting scrap iron on a dirt floor wearing a man-dress & safety sandals😉, but you have eye pro & full coverage footgear.👍🏼

    I have the X27 and the 8lb maul. I like using the maul to split the real hard, wet or knotty rounds and the axe on the easier stuff or after the initial split with the maul. The only thing is you tire easy using the maul and wears on the shoulder so I try to keep the axe in my hands more than the maul

    A few weeks I rented a mini skid with a log grapple to tackle a pile of logs. Although it was kinda time consuming to grab each log individually it was still awesome to cut them off ground at a convenient height.

    I was sceptical till you started cutting 2 or 3 at a time! I'd like to time cutting on a pile VS getting on and off the machine 100 times!

  • @765Guys
    @765Guys8 күн бұрын

    Cutting on the pile like I did has got to be much quicker, even just cutting one log at a time on the pile was enjoyable, anything to be more upright and out of the dirt.

    I see you go through a bunch of walnut. Don’t sell that for the same price as oak and cherry? It sure smells purdy. I came into a cord.

  • @765Guys

    No, walnut sells cheaper, some love it, some hate it. It isn’t near as dense as oak hickory or locust. Cuts and splits nice though!
