We all usually tell a story by reciting the facts. What if you told it a different way. This song starts out with a great example.
Try this in your own song to create some variety in how you tell a story.
If you've ever wanted to write a list song, Hayes Carll's "Down The Road Tonight" is the "how-to" guide!
What makes a song work - sometimes it's something as simple as super descriptive characters. Check out Miranda Lambert's "Tourist" for an example of showing - not telling.
