  Hi! Question, what time did you leave Innsbruck and what time did you get to the trail head? We are planning on doing the hike in July, ai have checked the map and it is says anout 1.5 hours from Innsbruck to the trailhead, is that accurate? Thanks!

  We didn’t start from Innsbruck. But I would plan for 2.5 hrs if you are driving from Innsbruck. Remember, the last part of the road is one way- 20-30 minutes for going up and then next 20-30 minutes for going down, so you may have to wait there. Check the weather carefully as it may be different at the bottom by the lake from the mountain top. This happened to us in Schafberg too; sunny by the lake, but foggy and windy at the top. It can ruin the plan. Good luck

  Beautiful memories ! been there 25 years ago, on a bright sunshine day, the town of Oberammergau seems to be quite the same still, we made a ship tour on one of the large lakes nearby. Did not vissit Ettal but seen a few other churches with that exuberant Bavarian style, like the Wiesskirche. Thanks for sharing!

  Красивая природа и красивая старинная деревня.Но такое ощущение,что там постоянно идёт дождь,а солнца не видно.Улицы пустые,людей на них почти нет.В многочисленных магазинах и кафе тоже пусто, покупателей вообще не видно!Где жители и туристы? Грустно.

  Gee, I may visit Oberammergau which has the rural charm that makes me cross the Atlantic Ocean from the USA. Other Bavarian towns I plan on visiting are Mittenwand and Wallgau. The background music goes great with the scenery.
