I can’t believe I didn’t find this sooner! This brings back so much memories. . . Learning to vault and spending time with all of the Torrance vaulters was the best time of my life, thanks Patrick and everyone for making my time there so special I can’t believe how far you’ve come! We should go to an all comers sometime and you can teach me a thing or two 😄

Tiler Boston speed really helps no matter ur size but you wont want to gas out. start with a nice tempo in your run for the first 2 lefts and gradually speed up until the end. you should be at your fastest at the end. make sure to keep a tall posture throughout not letting your pole drop too quickly. your pole tip should be high until the last three lefts, thats where your pole should be at eye level. and honestly never slack on running and leg day even if you hate it, it really helps. bigger poles mean faster speed to bend it, smaller poles and moderate speed should do the same but its a risk to blow through. if you’re scared of getting on a bigger pole, you dont have to get on it if you dont want to, vault comfortably and with focus on form. how i get on bigger poles is starting at a low handgrip and gradually moving up until i can get used to the size and bend. fastest way tho is cap the pole, run as fast as you can, and push with your bottom hand locking the elbow and hope for the best.

Hey man great vaulting! I am a former D1 vaulter and current coach trying to start up a channel to give back to the track community. I was wondering if you wanted to send some videos to me and I could review and help you out and feature you on the channel. Thanks man, goodluck this outdoor season
