At DangerDave8080 we will create videos mostly about motorcycle stuff. We will have moto vlogs of trips taken and interesting sites, product reviews ... one of my favorite things to do! Also, we will provide riding and safety ideas ... I currently ride a BMW 1250 GSA and a 2008 Gold Wing. I started riding motorcycles at 60 years of age ... bought the Gold Wing as my very first bike ... LOVE the GW! After about 5 years .... bought the BMW 1250 GSA for off-road riding .. fireroads, two-tracks ... not super difficult riding.
Your support of SUBSCRIBING would be greatly appreciated. And please, feel free to leave comments on any video ... I love any help you can provide and any ideas for future videos.
Striving to make better and better videos ... pertinent videos ... is the constant goal. Again, thanks for taking a look at the channel!

I have 23 GSA Trophy but NO dirt riding experience okay just a tad with my previous GS HP with Anakee Adventures… Question that Im compelled to ask is this: How much confidence inspiring are these Motoz tires on the dirt on the 50/50? In addition mileage/longevity. Thanks in advance. Take care from balmy Arizona🫡🇺🇸🌵
What if a crack a fat Dangerous?
Maybe out west, in the southeast I would die.
Great idea for dry heat--I tried a cooling vest in the mid-Atlantic and, sadly, that was a no-go. I do like the layers you have though--I have similar ones form NPWear (no longer around). Great stuff. And the gaiter idea, too. I freeze mine and that helps a lot.
so what is best for high humid conditions? Doing a trip from Boston to Maine late August.
Great Question! You can not wear the "vest" in high humidity .. doesn't work. I failed to talk about high humidity and high heat .. in those cases I wear a tight fitted, long sleeve Under Armour shirt ... they make one for heat (to be worn in hot weather) it's a thin material ... you will see professional athletes wear something similar. Under high temps and humidity ... you are going to be warm :). The Under Armour shirt seems to wick away just enough sweat that you can get a bit of the "cooling" effect. Just to reiterate ... the "cooling vest" works well in low humidity but it will kill you in high humidity .. LOL. THANKS for the question!
@@dangerdave8080 Thanks for the channel!
I soak my neck buff as you demonstrated. Then wear it "hoodie" fashion under my helmet with the rest tucked into the jacket. Try it!
You’re a good man Dave but can’t support this one 😂. I rode yesterday with my wife, only 50 miles or so in fully vented Klim gear…we were dying. 94°, humidity 90% ish…with a feels like 109°. Brutal
Riding in heat in a snowsuit lol
Dave, did the seat have any effect on inseam reach to the ground. I am able to comfortably flat foot my 2017 R1200 GSA with the seat in high position. Since the seat is wider does that have any effect?
Great question. I too can flat foot in the high position (barely). With the Sargent seat, yes, it does stretch your legs a pinch. The wider seat of the Sargent "pulls" your legs up a bit for sure. THANKS for watching!
You are the man! I cannot do that and I definitely need to practice
I bought a sargent dtx for my R1250RT about 1 month ago. I have hust over 800 miles on it. As described its gotten much more comfortable as it gets broken in. I wpuld describe it as firm, supporive but not hard. Not sure what the range if it will be but already at least 2x the stock as far as ride time before i feel it. Also, the heating element is better than stock. I am very pleased
That's great ... good description of the break in time . THANKS FOR WATCHING and aharing.
Dangerous. What do you think of the 1300 GSA
It's looks great! I have only sat on one. There seems to be a few issues according to others. ... however, if I were looking for another GS(A) I would not hesitate to get the 1300 ... thanks for watching!
So what about that inflatable seat you recently reviewed? No good anymore? It pop😅?!
Great question ... the Airhawk is great and works well ... someone suggested I try the Sargent seat so I bought one ... I feel the Sargent is the best option, however, the Airwawk is 20% of the cost of the Sargent seat and works really well! Thanks for watching and thanks for the question!
@@dangerdave8080very cool🤙🏼thanks for the reviews. I do a few iron butts a year and am long overdue for an upgrade. I've been using a piece of real thick wool/hide which seems to help some, but its not a permanent solution by any means. I use to have a Sargent seat on an old VStrom that I really liked but since I upgraded to the GS six years ago it's just been the hard stock seat. It would be neat to see you do a longer term review of the Sargent once you've put a few more seasons on it. See ya on the road👊🏼
I have the Trailmax Mission on front and the Shnko 705 on rear. I'm very happy with both. I think the mileage on the 705 will be half of the dunlop but it's also half the cost and probably a lighter tire.
Enjoyed the video Dave! Some great tips there... Regards from Melbourne Australia 🙂
Thanks for watching! From Australia ... wow!
Dave, great video! You are correct, clutch control using the friction zone is the absolute key to success. I'm new to adventure riding but have been riding my whole life. A lot of road touring, trail, enduro, and single track in Colorado. I bought a 97 R1100 GS 1 1/2 years ago and having a blast. But I have to say, the GS is way different than my YZF426. I don't feel nearly as confident on the GS than the YZ. Mostly the weight difference, but some suspension, some age (63). It won't stop me because I still love the dirt. I'm in Arizona.
Thanks for watching! Clutch control working the friction zone ... great stuff! Again, thanks for watching!
Norway here✌️😀
NORWAY!!!!!! WOW!!!! Thanks
Danger. You da man. You have to come to Australia and ride the Victorian High Country
Someday!
Great Video Dangerous. Can you do a tutorial on how to throw a leg over and exercise the option on the GS?
Any trouble with pressure points at the seams?
Not at all ....I place the tag to the back and inside ... ever has been an issue. Thanks!
@@dangerdave8080 thanks for the follow up. I ordered two
Hey Dave, I have a pair of Revit pants as well and the I found the suspenders took them from something I could tolerate to wear for one day to something I could probably sleep in. Mega comfortable. I look like i'm 20 years older than I am with them on but who cares!
LOL .... right ...suspenders add 20 years and 20 pounds ... thanks!
Great demo!
Thanks!!!
I bought the Motorrad Connector for my 2017 R1200 GSA. It was a breeze to install and works great. It beats paying $100's more for a Zumo, of which in the USA you need to pay for updates. It does keep the phone charged and if I want to switch to Google Maps or music, I believe I can and the phone still stays charged. It fits the bill.
nice, will take a look.
man that second fall was brutal!!! i kind of screamed..
Me too! 🤣
Wow! Been to Rally years ago in PA. Got to get back and next year looks doable. Thanks for sharing and well done.
Thank you so much Dave for sharing this, did a search last evening and couldn’t find anything from the event. I was just watching an episode of Upshifting Adventure (SD bdr-x), and right after this popped up in my subs. Awesome. God willing, I will be in TN for next years event. You planning on going?
Planning on it ....
I heard if you knock the top off it that helps out 😊
I've had one or two of these suits since I was 20. I'm 52 now, and I believe I'm on my 5th suit. Might be the 6th. While I've usually owned a leather suit for those trackdays, for everything else an Aerostich suit works best. I used to see a lot of Aerostich suits back in the 1990's but very rarely see them now.
Had a set of these on my Africa Twin. They were really good on the road and decent offroad for the first 3500 miles. The front started herniating (bulges started forming under the tread) and the rear cracking (not severe) about that time so swapped them out. Running recommended PSI, climate controlled storage, etc. Plenty of tread left but the front looked like it was ready to fail. Could have been a case of bad luck, the roads get really hot here so it coulda been temp related as well. If you google this tire you will see there have been tons of delaminations/bad batches/failures so just keep an eye on them if you decide to get this tire.
👍
Thanks. Delete the annoying music though.
The music is a rookie mistake..LOL
I ran the GPS on the rear of my Tenere 700 and did 2 BDRs Loved it! I have almost 7000 miles on it. I will switch it out as the lugs are now losing their edges. If I was only using it for mostly pavement I would get another 3000 miles on it.
Great tire!
How did you like the gps in the offroad direction?
Great! The GPS will always be on the mostly off road on my bike ... there seems to be a difference in dirt ... better grip ... similar on the tarmac. Just my opinion.
@@dangerdave8080 I'd love to see an update or follow up about that. I'm going to be getting these as my first 50/50 tire for my little ADV bike with a similar use case. I'm wondering if I should just save myself the hassle and just have the shop mount them flipped into the mostly off-road direction to start. I'm a new rider anyway, so I'm hoping to get all the help I can get, but I don't want to do myself a disservice for the 90% of pavement I ride for now.
Solution for # 1s or #2s…? 🤣😂🤣
😂

Safe travels Dave, sure wish I lived closer…you’re going to have a blast. PS you have been kind enough to reply to a few of my comments in the past, however, I never get notifications. It’s by chance that I go back to the same video to rewatch and then catching your replies. Very strange as I receive notifications from other video comment replies 🤷🏼♂️. Anyways, I’m super jealous. Have fun.
99% of motorcycles I see in my city are speeding and weaving back and forth between lanes. THATS HOW CRASHES HAPPEN! SLOW DOWN. IM TIRED OF BEING TOLD TO WATCH OUT FOR MOTORCYCLES.
Ok Karen. Think about your statement the next time you’re texting and driving. The majority of motorcycle riders are good and responsible people and not what you are referencing. Your statistics are also total bullshit.
Age is just a number. You rock🎉
I have the same seat, added the windrider mesh cover. Heaven.
I'm riding 1,600 miles next week ... I'm hoping it will be great!
@@dangerdave8080 it turned my GSA from a 2 hour bike to an all day long ride. It is a bit wider than stock but you'll get use to it. Safe travels.
What are your thoughts on the GPS Front tire offroad? **Would you recommend to keep the GPS tires (front / rear) paired, or would you keep the rear in offroad paired with a different front tire? Currently inhave the MOTOZ Dual Venture tire, and it performs well on road l, in the wet, offroad, sand, rocky, BUT it does howl quite a bit on tarmac. I ponder if the GPS front is too tame in the sand or gravel...
Today in preparation for riding to Redmond,OR for the BMW RALLY.... I replaced the rear with the Tractionator Adventure ... much more robust than the GPS ... I'm not sure what kind of dirt/mud I'll come across in Redmond ... also, the Adventure is fairly quiet for a knobby tire (700 miles of highways one way). I left the GPS on front ... I'd rather have a knobby up front ... but they are all so loud ... stuck with the GPS front for this trip. Certainly giving something up on the front with deep sand/mud ... hopefully the paddle on the rear will propell the bike through the sand and mud. Tires on motorcycles is so much personal preference ... how this helps! Thanks for watching!!!!!!!!
No no no unless you got a death wish
Very good reviews: both of these GPS videos! Pretty much all channels review the tire in the 50/50 orientation. You are virtually the only channel that inhave found that talks about this tyre in the offroad orientation... Very real reviews: well-done & thanks you!
Worth the money?
That is the $600 question.... I use this tent regularly ... I really enjoy being able to stand up ... I do not park my bike in the tent ... that space used for other purposes ... eating, setting up chairs to visit, etc. In the end ... consider your application of use ... if you are camping for tha2 days ... this is a great tent. For camping different places each night perhaps a smaller 2 man tent ... Thanks for watching!
@@dangerdave8080 always the case. I’m just looking for simple life purchases these days anything to make life easier and comfortable. And here there closer to 800 bucks haha.
I think the Dunlop TMM and Shinko 705 perform very similarly.
I have the E1 as well Dave! It's a great helmet - and especially configurable with comms. Speakers are easy to mount in easily accessible ear cups and plenty of options to route wires neatly. I measure at 59.5 CM and a size LARGE fits perfectly. This is a well constructed helmet. I find the vents do a great job removing interior fog and I am able to ride without the included Pinlock insert. I wish the chin strap tightness was easier to adjust. I a,so find this helmet works great with glasses. Great review Dave!
Thanks for watching!
You do know those are $225 when you order them from Italy?
I really wonder what makes people ignore instruction manuals...
I have found it much easier and cheaper to build skills on smaller lighter bikes and then transfer them over to the big boys.
You are great👏👏
