    We spent five days in Lyon in March. We decided to check it out simply it was on the way to Chambéry, our destination. It was fantastic. Also, if you're moderately fit, it's very walkable. The Old City is great, but take some time to explore the Croix Rousse area. We absolutely loved the city.

    Hi @ralphlw! Thanks for sharing your experience and for watching our video! 💛 Lyon is indeed a fantastic city, and it's great to hear you enjoyed your time there. The Old City is wonderful, and Croix Rousse has so much charm and character. It's also great to know that you found it walkable. Thanks for the recommendation, and we're glad you loved Lyon as much as we do!

  • @towntraveltips
    @towntraveltips12 күн бұрын

    Thank you for watching! 💛 Sadly, no. There was a direct connection between Paris and Milan, but a landslide wrecked the rails last summer and it won't be reinstated until later this year. The fastest route by rail now takes around 11 hours: from Paris to Zurich, then Zurich to Milan, and finally Milan to Florence. Although we are fans of train trips, at this point it's probably better to fly from Paris to Milan and then take a Frecciarossa/Italo to Florence, which takes about 90 minutes. Let us know if you have any other questions!

  • @wanderfulstops8488

    @@towntraveltips thank you for such a detailed reply :) we are thinking of taking the Nice to Florence route. What do you suggest?🙂

  • @towntraveltips
    @towntraveltips12 күн бұрын

    @wanderfulstops8488 It is faster to take the Nice-Milan-Florence route, but the difference is only about 60 minutes. The Nice-Pisa-Florence route is definitely more scenic, as it goes through the Italian Riviera, which is awesome. One piece of advice: there are fewer trains from Nice to Florence via the Riviera, and only "Intercity" trains: If you are planning to travel during summer, book in advance because they sell out fast, especially on weekends!

    Hello @carmfe2688! Thank you for watching! 💛 The experience is similar whether you visit in the morning or the afternoon, as only 20-25 people are allowed inside at a time, and the schedule is strictly followed. You'll have around 30 minutes, which is enough time to see the Last Supper. There are only two artworks in the room: The Last Supper on one side and The Crucifixion on the other side. Even though the video is almost two years old, it is still pretty factual. Now, you can pay for all the metros/buses with credit cards, so there is no need to buy tickets. Uber still works, and while on the expensive side, it is way more reliable than local taxis. Some new cool rooftops opened (Horto, Mirador), and some excellent new pizzerias opened (Denis, Confine) as well. Buy tickets in advance for Da Vinci's Last Supper. Enjoy the Duomo's roofs. It will probably be hot in the summer, but you will have a great time in Milan!

    @towntraveltips24 күн бұрын

    Hi @maryjosephineledesma6229! Thank you for watching! 💛 Navigating a wheelchair through the cobblestones in Edinburgh can be challenging, but it's possible with some preparation. All the Royal Mile is wheelchair accessible and Edinburgh is generally an inclusive city. Specifically for Edinburgh Castle, there are accessible routes and facilities for visitors with disabilities, though some areas might still be difficult due to the historic nature of the site. Among the places shown, Dean Village is probably the hardest to navigate with a wheelchair. If you are going to visit Scotland's capital, you will indeed have a great time. The vibe there is amazing! 🏰 Happy to help further if needed!

  • @towntraveltips
    @towntraveltipsАй бұрын

    Hello @aryamohandas745 and thank you for watching! 💛 Navigating Beijing on a budget is definitely doable, and using the city's extensive subway system is a great way to save money while exploring. Here's a quick guide, maybe not super comprehensive, on how to reach some of the top places mentioned in the video through public transports: 1. Great Wall of China (Mutianyu Section): Unfortunately, the subway doesn't go directly to the Great Wall. However, you can take the Beijing Subway Line 2 or Line 13 to Dongzhimen, then transfer to the 916 Express or 916 bus to Huairou North Avenue (Huairou Beidajie), and finally, take a local taxi or mini-bus to Mutianyu. 2. Forbidden City (and Tiananmen Square): Take Line 1 to Tiananmen East or Tiananmen West Station. Both the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square are a short walk from these stations. 3. Temple of Heaven: Take Line 5 to Tiantan Dongmen Station, which will drop you right at the East Gate of the Temple of Heaven complex. 4. Summer Palace: Take Line 4 to Beigongmen Station, which is directly north of the Summer Palace. For other locations: - 798 Art District: Take Line 14 to Wangjing South Station, and then a short taxi or bus ride will get you there. - Hutongs: For a glimpse into the traditional alleyways, head to the area near the Bell and Drum Towers using Line 8 to Shichahai Station. Using the subway in Beijing is cost-effective, and most signs and announcements are in both Chinese and English, making it easier for international travelers to navigate. The subway system connects most parts of the city, and it's the best option for getting around quickly and cheaply. PRO TIP: don’t forget to purchase a reloadable Yikatong Subway Card for convenience (you can buy and top this up at any station), and always have a subway map app on your phone to plan your journeys effectively. Enjoy your adventure in Beijing, and feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need further travel tips! Safe travels! 🚇✨

    @akai1500 It's wonderful to hear that our video has been helpful for your trip planning! April is a beautiful month to be in Kyoto, especially with the cherry blossoms which might still be in full bloom. 🌸 Be sure to check out the Maruyama Park and the Philosopher's Path for some of the best sakura viewing spots. If you have any more questions or need further recommendations for your time in Kyoto, feel free to ask. Enjoy your trip, and we can't wait to hear about your experiences! 😊
