"I wasn't alive when this film came out." Shots fired. One of my earliest memories was going to an event the year after, and I got to see the Batmobile in person. With my Batman t-shirt. And my Batman shoes. Not only was it the north star, the shining example of everything a comic movie could and should be, but the soundtrack. Prince on every song. Partyman, Electric Chair, Batdance...you don't like Trust?! Excuse you. Keaton just anchored it, and played Bruce perfectly for me. Average build/average guy/realistic, and a likeable version of Bruce, which seems to be elusive for most. And yes, even the physical movements as a result of the costume limitations: iconic. The way he moves is the way we moved when we recreated these scenes as kids. Them extra battips. The Batwing blocking the moon. "Love that Joker!" Vicki Vale. Knox. "You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?" Everything works. It will never be better for me as a lifelong Batman lover.

I only just stumbled across your review. Credit to you guys for holding back and showing restraint. Were we to give this film our honest opinion, it would consist of nothing more than a diatribe of effing and blinding. This film deserves zero respect for insulting the audience. What the hell was Tim Burton trying to do here? I'm guessing he just wanted to f**k up the franchise and pi$$ off the fans.

Cody, you're a racist. And by racist, I mean I agree with a lot of this, lol. I'm over seeing our faces shoved into mid-level filler projects that are mostly "family friendly" bland cringe--which is pretty much where we're stuck at this point with regard to the bigger franchises. I want to see us in the good shit. But re: SW specifically, we knew this is where we were going after the Disney acquisition. The writing is lacking. The characters are getting boring. Even the makeup is trash cans. (That terrible old man wig will live rent-free in my brain for eternity.) When we will return to the love of the franchise vs trying to make a Disney dollar? I'm a burnt out Mexican space bitch on this topic. Except for the mindfucking and mouth-raping. The Acolyte after dark, let's gooo.

Nice one guys. Cheers. Kudos to you for trying to fix this film. Sadly, I have to agree, it is not possible to do or say anything to improve this wayward instalment. I am not the target audience for Disney's Star Wars, so I have no dog in this fight. (I quit the franchise in 1983 with the mediocre effort that closed out the Original Trilogy). Still, it is fun to speculate on what could have been.

Y'all sound like like you grew up where I did, in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, so I do recommend you watch Andor. It's not like other Star Wars. It understands what it means to live in a small town, best aspect of the show that is talked about too-little.

Nice one guys. Cheers. Always good to hear an honest take on the latest Star Wars fare. A long time ago, it was considered reasonable to excuse bad franchise choices with the statement; 'Star Wars is meant for 10 year old boys.. You're an adult,, Shut up". The excuses have now evolved to: "Star Wars is meant for 10 year old girls.. You're an adult, Shut up". (I am not going to be drawn into any discussions about gender, sex, empowerment, inclusivity, politics, orientation, race, etc... certainly not for the sake of a mediocre, forgettable TV Show. No thank you)

If handled correctly, Star Wars should be for everyone. It's unfortunate that Star Wars has become such a divisive subject. And that criticism, becomes misconstrued as hate. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel. We always looked forward to seeing your comments.

@@TowelCapes I could not agree more, Stars Wars should be for everyone. And yes, it seems that criticism is often interpreted as hate, even when the intent may be filled with good intentions. This is why I appreciate your efforts in trying to rewrite the Sequels, if only to demonstrate that Star Wars could be made more appealing to everyone. Stick with your hard work lads. They should just pay and have those directors and writers do every Star Wars from here on out. Thanks for the review and that crashing ship from space was dumb and not believable.

Very good movie, but Furiosa definitely takes second billing for most of the movie. Also there is so much plot armor early on it's hard to pretend you aren't being taken on a pre-determined path. About 15 minutes in that ends, but there are still moments after that jar you out of your suspension of disbelief.

Imagine a scenario played out for us that the reason Furiosa lost her arm would be something akin with the map she had inked on it. I'm talking someone cut her arm clean off because they figured out what it was and would lead to the Green Place. Or it was a major split second do or die moment where she cleaves the damn thing off herself knowing it'll instantly be destroyed.

  • @TowelCapes

Fair play to you guys. You gave it your best. Frankly, I am not convinced that the sequels can be saved. There were too many lost opportunities for starters. The casting was off. The story wasn't mapped out from the outset. Our much beloved heroes became a mockery, in order to push the new cannon and create new toys unburdened by established copyright. Having said all this, we are not ten years old anymore. These film s were not made for me.

Nice one guys. Cheers. You hit the nail on the head, with regards to watching this film without sound. The story is so expertly visually told that I think it would work as a silent movie. The framing keeps the action dead centre. It is not a chore to seek out plot points, they are always right in one's line of sight. The practical effects work really well, with no clunky additions. Do I have any criticisms? It's called Mad Max.. So why did it feel like Max was not the main character. Well done chaps!

It's genuinely the worst suit reveal I've ever seen. It looks awful in every way possible. I don't understand all the lines on his suit and what looks like padding. I can't imagine him wearing this suit under his normal clothing. It's like it was designed by the people who made the injustice games, which I was never a fan of. On top of that, I thought we were past the whole red underwear?? It literally makes no sense anymore. Henry Cavill suit set the standard and Gunn failed miserably with this.
