We have never really tried that.....but you never know!

The rix is an excellent unit. I'm seeing small critters like possums and rabbits at 100 yards, I can see cows over 1,000. It has 6x zoom. It's not meant to be zoomed in all the time though. This is made to be a helmet mounted thermal so it has to be a true 1x magnification. It's not made for long distance. You may be expecting things it wasn't built to do.
