  I had a tough time sitting through this film. Saw it in Imax. At least in the original i felt the chase team members were actually somewhat competent and knew what they were doing. In the new one i felt like they had no cohesion. In particular the scene where the one chase guy was drinking a beer for product placement, and hes trying to act like hes so wild and fancy free and hes like "tornadoes! Whoo Hoo" or something to that effect and i had to stifle my laughter out of respect for people in the theater. And oh man the music was really odd. Perhaps its meant for kids?

  Because for a lot of the ideas of disaster movies are some theory’s of disasters that could actually happen when caused by climate change, its a real thing but they bump it up in these movies to show the side effects of it in a more crazy way

  In my opinion, the trailers shouldn’t have shown that the Dad was the criminal! Imagine this: We see a father going to a concert with his daughter for fun, he still goes to the counter and the guy still reveals that the concert is a trap. The rest of the trailer could’ve shown the father trying to get his daughter out in fear the killer will take her, making us believe they’re the good guys! However at the end of the movie we see the father go downstairs and then the twist would be that he WAS the criminal! That would’ve shocked the whole audience if Shyamalan did this!

  How do you know the father is really the criminal? Not everything is always as it seems. And knowing Night, that is not the twist.

  How do you market it without showing what the whole movie will be about? I imagine it’ll be revealed within the first 15-20 minutes that he’s the butcher or a serial killer

  Watched it and it was so bad I had to see what others are saying, I don’t know how this was a theater movie… I do not joke when I say that was the most novice level production I’ve ever seen in a theater. I like Crowe and think he did great for what he has written, same with everyone else for that part, acting isn’t bad… the editing, writing and all that are god awful tho. Multiple people left the theater during the movie, never was scared, never was even intrigued or entertained just waiting and hoping something good happened and just never did

  Aegon is horrible. Sick sense of humor. He's right up there with Joffrey as far as annoying and degrading. He proved that just with that convo with Tyland.

  It was a tough watch. The movie completely fell apart in the second and third act. Russ did good with what he had to work with but there was just not enough tension in the film.

  Avoid,the 1959 Ten Commandments is better but dated.Sad to see whites playing Egyptians in this day and age,there are plenty of talented Egyptians who could have been cast surely? The costumes are inaccurate and look cheap.The best sources for the Exodus story are Josephus,Artapanus and Ginzbergs legends of the Jews and of course the Old Testament.

  Lady "Raven" is M. Night's daughter who is a real musician. In the film the name "Raven" could be an ode to Edgar Allan Poe and The Raven which is about madness. Josh's character could be reliving the time his daughter was killed by a serial killer when he left his daughter at a concert and she disappeared and he got revenge. If you look at the last scene, he has a similar look as Anthony Perkins in Psycho which had this quote from the movie: We're all in our private "traps" and none of us can get out We scratch and claw and never budge an inch. One fun casting choice was "Haley" Mills as a detective who was in the original The Parent Trap movie playing both twins. If you slow down the trailer you see a marquee for The Watchers which is Ishana Night's upcoming film. Perhaps Lady Raven's Tour Dates mean something too? The Butcher's kill dates? It is also "From The World of M. Night" so it might be connected to another film like The Sixth Sense and may have an appearance by another "Haley" actor as in Haley Joel Osment. All possible clues.

  It wasn’t a bad movie was it I’m don’t you think it had some intelligence along with really good solid acting, directing, writing and dialogue and the plot was conprehensible right so critics should be praising it especially for being visually stunning and having tremendous action set pieces.

  To me it would be better if it was about three kidnapped princess that where sacrificed to a dragon and they had to find a way to stay alive until there parents came with an army to defeat the evil Royals and the dragon.

  Eggers is my favorite director who emerged within the past ten years so I'm insanely excited for this one even though I have never particularly cared for vampire films. Plus any movie set during winter is an automatic plus for me.

  Thats a fair reaction. Alot of people hoped that baby joker which is Pheonix become the fully formed chaos mastermind that Ledger was in a sequel but the went more with the joker and harley story which to be hasn't been properly explored and the chaos mastermind has been explored alot. Also again alot of people were turned off by musical direction though your the first lukewarm reaction ive seen alot of people have been won over but your reaction is the expected and completely fair reaction. Now mind you you said something about tone which i thought originally as well but theres is precendence of music numbers in the batman animated series where music harley/joker have this whimsical fairy tale tone so theres source material where this is being drawn from. Though that doesn't necessarily mean its a popular choice. Great reaction.
