    If you're hand launching, I would have thought there would be no rock opportunities on launch and when you land an F22, you'd be off throttle. That's how I landed. Thoughts?

  • @Killerplanes
    @Killerplanes2 ай бұрын

    Yup- but they can scoop up small rocks REALLY easily when you land (I guess it’s would have to do with the field) But it took that happening TWICE in one day to make me realize what was happening! The first fan that blew up I just thought it had reached self destruct point after 15 flights. The second one definitely made me look closer- and luckily the pebble was still in there rattling around!

    Oh yeah- wait til you see the full drillbit set! Lots of diameters for what we do (up to 1/4”), and lengths for most up to 12” or 18”, and the “fat” ones up to 48”. We drill rods from the wingtips all the way through the center of the plane, and all the way down the fuselages. That 58 g of reinforcement we mention is the entire plane!

    It’s in the “do it carefully” category- on paint, quick medium coats, no prob. On bare EPO foam, 3 very light coats (that each barely cover, so they dry fast) Let each coat dry for 30 minutes. Too heavy gives you alligator

    "Noob" is short for "NEWBE" which was a euphemism for "NEW BOOTS" which was a term that originated in Vietnam. When you first came into Nam you were wearing brand new Jungle Fatigues and brand new shiny jungle BOOTS. WE all went through that 'noob' phase. When I went back to fly a second tour I was wearing my nomex flt suit and jump boots. And those of us on return to nam were treated like royalty.
