  The Problem I have with This Hand Traps and these Newer Archetypes is two-fold. It Shouldn’t Take a Powercrept Archetype(s) to Outcreep the Hand Traps! And It shouldn’t Take NEW Hand Traps to Stop these Archetypes either! Clearly Konami knows this! But they’ll Charge the Whales an Arm and a Leg for that New Card just so they can keep this stupid Card Advantage going, when really, Unbanning Maxx C would be a Better Choice.

  We already had past formats where Dropleys/Dark ruler and evenly was meta, It was the majority of master rule 4. Nothing new is happening here.

  Interesting video and you have some good comments. I gotta say though, the way you move around means the audio is a bit uneven and sometimes you end up really quiet when you move a little too far away from the mic. I'd recommend staying still or maybe holding the mic directly and keeping it in front of you.

  Hand traps were so back and forth in kash format, that it'll probably be the same going forward. There will be a big event won by someone on 15-18 hand traps, and there will be another won by someone on a bunch of board breakers. It will mostly depend on how people shape there end boards, and if people think the risk of playing bricks in there deck for fiend smith is worth or not.

  Yeah, the game is slowly power creeping the fun out of itself lol. I don't think handtraps are bad. They tend to feel more like a sachy way of manipulating the opponent's plays and somewhat give players a way to keep their opponents from keeping them from playing. The problem is, that these same handtraps can also help to extend and provide safety nets for their combos to play out.

  The handtrap wars are my only real problem with the SE mirror. It takes what could be a tense and difficult resource game and turns it into "who drew the most effective handtraps" about 85% of the time (in my experience). I've had absolutely wonderful SE mirror matches, but the overwhelming majority of the time it boils down to one side getting blown out by handtraps and unable to stop the Zealantis OTK. And it only gets worse once Deck Lockdown or Skill Drain get sided in G2 and beyond. I genuinely hope that the Fiendsmith Engine being added to SE makes those handtrap wars less prevalent because they'll force us to play less of them, but it could easily make the mirror even more insufferable too. Anyway, good video!

  Making Yugioh healthy would require banning, at least, 30% of the total extra deck monsters and not replacing them with new cards.

  Nah there are like select problematic cards that do specific things. Like we already know an extra deck monster that dumps anything to grave is busted from lavalval chain and curious but Beatrice is still around. And Beatrice enables ftks because degenerate traps are around.

  Fiend Smith is going to be a really annoying mistake by Konami, is going to be basically Knigtmare Mermaid all over again. Two cards being equal to a fiends smith full combo is just dumb, specially since it is likely just going to be the default play if the main play gets stopped or as an additional level of BS that basically every deck can do on top of their boards, is basically going back to Predaplant Anaconda levels of BS. With shit like this being printed we are never leaving the 12+ handtrap, 1 card starters BS formats in which we throw hand traps and pray to god the opponent does not have another 1 card starter that get to full board anyways.

  Wasn't 2019 one of the most fond times for us in the TCG? I remember DANE format. Any two monsters were full orcust combo. I don't particularly understand the "worse" part. I look at INFO and see, we got a good set around the corner. I know for most of this always unhappy community, INFO is the end of yugioh.

  It’s important to look at the context surrounding both formats. Toss (for the most part) wasn’t a widely disliked hand trap war as is this one. The new cards in INFO + closed sky wouldn’t put us back into orcust format, the game is much faster, decks are more resilient and have more layered interaction. A new generic engine (depending on the banlist) could make the format even less enjoyable, because SE gets even more powerful and more resilient. I also agree that INFO is a good set, I think I implied it when I said that I’m excited to see how the format develops and how different decks perform if SE’s power level gets tweaked.

  I haven't enjoyed yugioh in a very long time. There needs to be some kond of rule in place that basically says you can not prevent your opponent from playing. Going second shouldn't be a gamble whether or not you are even going to be able to do something. Imagine if this was solved by a card you can put in your deck and the cards effect is. If your opponent prevents you from playing on your first turn, then you may play this card from. Your deck. Your opponent can not negate this cards effect, and the effects of all monsters currently the field are negated. Destroy, all your opponents cards. This would drastically chang the meta as now people will be afrade to play decks that will block your opponent from doing anything, and we may get some respectful games. The card can have a different effect, like you may draw one card, so that of it's in the hand, it's not a dead card.

  This is why I've enjoyed fighting decks like tenpai. As a Dino one trick, just having the ability to have a just say no card in deck like misc is great. I know, it's incredibly strong, with some saying it should be banned, but it's usually a card used just in setup because of that 1 of ruling. Might be a hot take, but I'd much rather have two full strength boards slugging it out than both of us struggling to play anything for the first few turns because of 18 hand traps in deck

  Yeah its a goated tech, but only really in a tier 0, you're also playing the tier 0 deck, and only when your opponent is blindsided by it 😂 Also, in a super hand trap heavy meta like this is you have to evaluate whether it's going to be worth running knowing that it might just get negated right outta the gate. That's why he's a pro, he made the right evaluation lol
