It is even later in Ohio
midnight oil!
Great having Ryan on the show again
Nice Show!
They will win 20 games
What about Mabrey??
@@thomasmiller8364 Had 2 balls batted down today by 3rd string 6'2" DL Jamel Howard, lol.
If you have 2 Quarterbacks, you have none....
Justin Taylor balled out today. Hopefully surpasses Zachman and Latu
Is there still time to contact Dr. Frankenstein to transfer Locke into TVD's body? If so, we could win a Natty!
Platteville plan for you, Ryan: Step1: Pizzeria Uno (1 mile from stadium) and Step2: Long Island ice tea (Original, not flavored) Step3: Your choice of pizza (Go a la mode) Step4: Get Osen to pull out his 247 credit card (c'mon, Nick - you can write it off).
I understand what you mean when you say Snowden is probably not a safety anymore at 210 LBs but I'm pretty sure that's the weight that's proportional to his size. He was really skinny before and in order to look filled out at that height he had to get a little bigger, doesn't necessarily mean they're moving him to safety
If Locke is the guy, expect the offense to be mediocre again.
As noted, historically, the great QBs have been superb between the ears. That is the single most important factor for a QB. Now, they brought TVD in given his skills, but he did in fact lose his job at Miami because of the processing. That's concerning. I agree, I think he'll start if everything is close, but also think he might have a short leash. If Locke is in fact a "savant" and "twice the player he was last year" then he very well could be the better option even if not quite the arm of TVD.
the right guy will end up starting
Nick Evers has a super physical skill set, just couldn’t learn the system. I worry about TVD mental decisions.
Longo was really high on Locke during his press conference.😊
Possible show idea.. highlight all the Badgers at the Olympics.
If, If, If...If Grandma had wheels she wouldn't ride the bus. (Works better in Hebrew, lol)
Cole Lacrue is the guy to watch.
Insider info, can't say from where. It's VD's job just like TM last year. "They have to play him after the investment they made in him." The only way Locke takes over is if VD plays poorly during the season or gets injured.
Longo clearly stated that TVD can complete a pass even if there is less time to throw. This is supported by people who watch them throw and state that Locke has to put more of his body into a throw than TVD does. To me it's undeniable that TVD is the man. Only his mental game can cost him the spot.
You're welcome. lol
What happened to Nate White?!
He still has to put on weight, and learn how to play the position. He has only played RB for 1 season.
OK, TVD has had issues with the mental side of the game. The fact that Phil praises BL on his understanding of the game...has to gives me some pause as to how things will end this fall.

Vukovic must be a special player to be on the radar for a college team.
Watch those slights about the quality and competitiveness about the MAC! How many times have MAC teams invaded Big Ten stadiums and come away with a win? Too many to count. Just because they schools aren't as big as the universities in the Big Ten doesn't mean these schools don't field quality teams. The strength of competition isn't as higher but that doesn't mean the quality of individual teams or programs are not as effective as the major conferences.
I mean their teams are really bad though. There's no depth in the league, the bottom feeder teams are some of the worst in the country. Only bad Big 10 teams lose to them. They do sometimes have good defense and for example the Toledo team last year was very talented but overall the teams and especially the offenses and QBs are just so bad in that league. I'd say it's the second worst FBS league ahead of C USA but that's mainly because C USA has become so diluted recently.
I think the battle says more about locke than it does Tyler Van Dyke… they love locke in there, and they even told Tyler regardless of what happened is not gonna be handed to him
I’ve seen a number of videos of Fretag, he has the athleticism to penetrate & get above the rim & if he gets cut off he can pass to a number of options. He shoots much better than Johnny Davis, he’ll be amazing! I can’t wait to see him!
I want to be excited about this team but they keep finding new ways to hurt me.
Always good to get a QB early. Can always continue to look at other recruits as well. A 2 QB class would not upset me.
😮💨
I think you could see more European kids coming into the ncaa in general because of NIL. I think before it was probably tougher to get them to leave their pro league where they can make a paycheck to come play college basketball and live in a dorm.
Normally I would agree I don’t care where the talent is from within the US, but I’m not sure that overseas players will feel as attached to the program as a kid from the Midwest would
Ryan isn’t away for Gard to save NIL money for a certain player if he goes overseas for a player or two. My understanding is players from overseas cannot get paid NIL money?
All good points thanks for responding
Locke did not play well last season, regardless of the competition or his class. However, I did not expect more and those performances did not change my thoughts on him at all.
No doubt they are now looking more over seas, because it gives them another pond to fish in
For basketball recruiting, you take the best player, regardless where they come from
I have always liked CL as well. I have always thought his skill set fits in really well with this offense
Low hanging fruit Gards speciality
Awesome job Ryan!!!
@@craighenrichs6174 thanks Craig !!
I see Locke as a good game manager similar to Jack Coan. That's not a nock. A good game manager who doesn't turn the ball over can win a lot of games.
Wish we had a way to see more practice film (from UW) on all these guys (qb’s) who are competing/developing but not playing in games. Other than what coaches say, it’s hard to know what they are looking like without it.
Not sure why it took so long to offer, but doesn't make sense UW and Gard were playing hard to get with Amari Allen.
Who will QB in '26 in the PLAYOFFS?
The competition will elevate the play of our QB room. I love it !!! ❤❤❤
Jaren Mock and Landyn Locke remind me of Sam Howell and Mitch Trubusty. Mabrey is like Drake Maye
No shade btw.. just more pocket slingers vs athlete with a cannon
I doubt he’ll ll be around when he’s actually a freshman in college. Just a guess.
I would love to see the Badgers crush it again. My daughter graduated from Wisconsin and during her time there Russel Wilson and monte ball were playing. The Badgers were relevant and a power house team. I am from Minnesota and like the Gophers but I would like to see Wisconsin get back to there game.
Hate to be negative but I looked at his offer list and if he does continue to develop, more teams will become interested. Will be hard for badgers to hold on if he improves
Meh, he didn't have to commit either and to some degree this can be said for just about anyone that doesn't have offers from the top programs. Still, wi and longo are no slouch, and some kids appreciate that early offer and belief. Who knows what will happen, but for now it's great for staff to get a QB they clearly wanted.
Patrick confirming what I've been trying to tell the discord for the past several weeks.... Wisconsin is a top 15 brand in college sports. We might not get that coverage in the niche that is CFB marketing but that's irrelevant because of how much brand power we have for actual game ratings and alumni
247 will probably slap an 86 on Mock soon. And then never re-evaluate him.
