  Depends on the jurisdiction. Most big corporations don’t like their loss prevention folks to risk getting hurt, so they have policies that say to ask for the merchandise, but don’t get physical. I tried that for a few months, but most boosters just ignore your requests, and if they actually cooperate, it takes months to adjudicate and wastes time. I started doing taking them to the back room by force and recovering the merchandise. Then I gave them a beat down they wouldn’t soon forget. Open the door and shove them out in the alley in front of a crowd of bums. Once the word gets out there are actual consequences for their criminal actions, my shrink went way down.

  i have never used drugs in my life im 63 but i believe if a person wants to use drugs they are going to get use there drug of choice no matter what the law says so i believe if the repeat offender is determined i think the law should let him do with his life as he pleases as long as he is only using it for himself if you provide it to another person then your drug dealer regardless if you took money for it or not so if i were trying to fight a war on drugs then i would take out the dealer and you solved your problem i'm, the drug dealer's worst nightmare but the government has there head up there ass they don't want to solve it

  Doesn't really work. The the guy knows you are scared and can determine if you are alone. And many people don't have the voice to talk through a window.

  Even if you just crack open the door, the guy can just shove his way in, sending you flying. So don't open the door: he doesn't have an appointment with you.

  Unfortunately, some of the folks who need to hear this will not listen. Like the bicyclists who ride way too fast on the cart path and don't signal from behind. I would gladly move off of the path if I knew they were coming but have been nearly hit on several occasions. Also, the kids out joy riding who don't slow down and enjoy throwing trash out of their carts. It's not bad all of the time but I have noticed it getting worse in the last couple of years.
