This channel is the part of my ongoing DuPage County Hardcore project, which aims to preserve & make available footage underground bands playing suburban Chicago during the '80s, '90s & '00s.
You can check out a lot more music at dupagecountyhardcore.bandcamp.com!
The other videos are just cool things I had on VHS and uploaded for all to enjoy.

Amazing documentation
When was this
I was very lazy about titles etc when I uploaded a bunch of videos. This was around 1999.
That basement is huge. Drums sound good. ;)
lol updated
For us Spitalfield fans, this is epic.
what year is this?
1993, I'll update the info!
This is great...and one of my favorite songs 🎵 ❤️
Thanks for pitting this up on youtube!
one of the best bands of all time
thanks for this channel
legendary
Where was this filmed?
Wheaton, IL
@@dupagecountyhardcoreBut where in Wheaton? I'm from there that's why I'm curious
even through the bitrate they sound the sameish and great
Ralph Na...
Very important video.
I was there! I miss McGegors😢
Me, too! x2
This has to be a bit later than 1999, there are songs from their 10" and their last LP, I'm guessing maybe 2001/2002?
PUNCH DRUNK!
From such a killer band to Deathstars. Unbelievable. Greed's a bitch and it preys on the weak. Well, at least Thunderbolt and Nicklas never sold out and they're doing fine with their projects.
One of my favorite charles bronson offshoot bands! Have their ST 7inch. This sound was a Big influence on my old fast HxC band
that's a cool song, but it's a bit long 😅😅
They're worse than my first high school garage band, but somehow they made it big. Scratching my head over here.
Nice.
As a seahawks fan, i still like that shirt.
Chicago still has a vital hxc scene, but this era was when Chicagoland hxc came into it's own. I started going to shows right at the end so just missed it. BUT this is a majorly overlooked era. Obviously Curdos & Charles Bronson got some shine, but the grindy thrashcore sound of that time is unique! MK Ultra, Social Coma, Pretentious Assholes, My Lai, etc were all so fucking good. There's always been good hxc from all over, just saying this hyper local stuff ripped and had a roster that could contend with any other scene.
Great show. Too bad they didn't play "Mr Brightside".
Epic
Hey there Dave, thanks for this upload! I know the video is 24 years old now, but is there any chance you personally know anyone in John Brown Battery? I used to know the guy in the gray shirt who kicks off the first song. Back then I knew him as Mr. P and he was a teacher's assistant and I was a student. I'm like 99% sure his first name is Jeff. Again, I know it's a long shot, but it would be cool to reconnect all these years later after growing up.
I don't know any of them, personally, I'm sorry. Thanks for checking out the video!
"greener eyes" is soo 🔥
That basement at DePaul was a great place for a show! Thanks for sharing this.
I bought a "BURN" compact disc way back in 2002. And I still Love it.
Where were these shows at in Glen Ellyn ?
In the downstairs living room of a house.
Hell yeah

Such a shame they didn't get to release these songs on a proper album. One of the best doom bands for sure.
But they did:) Unless you mean specific songs
@@karljanus8308 Under the Eternal Horizon was never properly release, only on promo and compilation, whereas The Dying Sleep is unreleased completely to my knowledge.
cheers, you are correct it DYING SLEEP was never played again, only at that fest. It would be cool if we record it now and release it, what do guys think? and thanks for the support!@@sothis1448
@@oscarmatter8861 Absolutely, your band is truly one of a kind, you owe it to metal to enshrine your musical ideas through recordings as much as possible.
Iam ready 🤟🤟

Dave, you're doing some amazing work between this and the bandcamp page. Thank you for preserving a piece of my youth.
