Yep they sure do. Theyre actually pretty decent size. The guy who put together that area showed up later and showed me pics of what he caught there. I was surprised myself.

The river can be tough to fish in the winter. Hopefully spring comes early this year and warms up the water temps for us

I grew up on my grandmothers property, her back yard went directly into the forest preserve with the river right there, got to fish many wonderful summers away!!!

Sounds like you grew up on the water. I know exactly we’re that is. Between Dundee and that pavilion, I saw carp and that’s all. Water I pretty low there too so it’s not ideal. Any place north is about 3ft+ from what I can tell.

@@out_n_stuff Thank you for the info, Growing up I had a choice between catfish and carp, The water was Very polluted, Even surage was dumped into it by the trailer camp just upstream! i wasn't allowed to eat them, So now after the dams are gone I see people on yt catching all kinds, I can't wait to find them this year, I will look for some of my old spots.

Yea a few weeks ago I was there and someone caught a huge turtle. I heard the guy who caught it thinks it was his pet he release a few years ago. I saw bigger ones the 1st time I went to the park but wasn’t catfishing so I missed out lol

I hold by belly- thumb and index finger positioned right behind the front fins with a firm grip. This avoids the fish being able to stab you.

I wear the same size and it does fit our large dome lol. It has a stretch to it so it’s snug but still comfortable.

I made a lap around our local pond yesterday morning with the fly rod in hopes of catching some bass. Got skunked. It happens. So I went to the creek and at least caught some little smallmouth and the video is uploading now.

I really want to try fly fishing. It looks so fun but I heard it’s sometimes difficult to cast correctly.

@@out_n_stuff Yeah I'm new at it myself. There's a timing to the casting that gets slower the more line you have coming out. It's really fun though.
