Welcome to my KZread channel, where I'm taking you along on my journey of rediscovering my passion for ceramics.
From starting from scratch to building my own ceramic studio, I'm exploring the art of ceramics with a fresh perspective.
Coming back to the pottery wheel after a 40-year hiatus has been a thrilling experience, and I'm excited to share it with you. I'm also inspired by the beautiful surroundings of Skagen and the graceful movements of Taiji.
While I'm not a professional ceramic worker, I'm passionate about making unique artwork and special craft projects within ceramics. My channel is dedicated to inspiring and entertaining others who share my love for this beautiful art form.
Come along on this journey with me, and let's create some beautiful pottery together.

I like it. Could we see the complete video ?
Thanks 🙏 and Complete video is coming up within the next month… the vase is still in production 😊
Sehr schön. 👍🏻
Sehr danke ❤
Als ob der Ballon leben würde. 🤭
Ja, es gab von allen Seiten Druck auf den Ballon, da der Ton beim Trocknen aufschäumte
So, you are using a mold with 2 different colors of slip? Then, unmolding and trimming to achieve an original design of your own. 😮
Yes and I made the mold my self from bricks I have found on the beach🏖️the bricks have been shaped by the ocean for years and every brick is unique…and I have never seen that done before have you?
Should have read what are uou doing?
Hi Im making a vase with waves, so in this video I am bobble glazing the bottom of the vase because it looks so much like colour difference in the water of the waves 🌊
😊😊

👍❤️
Super gorgeous! Just wondering did you add texture with the white glaze ? It looks like something was used to texturize other than the stamps..
@forestgrace9513 hi Thanks for your interest 😀and yes you’re super observant- I have used some slip and made some slightly wavy patterns under the white colour. Didn’t think it showed so I did not mention it. Thanks for your feedback 😀🥰
Wow ❤
Thanks 😃🙏🙏🌸🌸🌺
love it 🎉
@katlemann5131 thank You🥰
Magnifique ❤👏👏👏👏
Merci ❤️👍🙏
YES ❤️
Awesome idea! 😀

Congratulations on having an inspiring exhibition so early on in your clay journey. Very beautiful pieces and thankyou for sharing. New Zealand follower.
Hi @cutgrove5942 welcome you from New Zealand. Just love New Zealand, were there many years ago. Both on the North and South Island 😀🌊Thanks for your response and yes I also feel very lucky 🍀 to have the opportunity especially in this particular place. Wishing you a wonderful day ahead in New Zealand. Wonder if it’s morning there now 🤔
@Skagenclay . 8 hours ago it was mid morning for us. I live in Nelson in the South Island close to the Abel Tasman National Parks. Nelson is well known for its ceramics. It was very interesting hearing about the painter that inspired your ceramics.
Oh I remember Nelson, such a beautiful place and also Albel Tasmania National Park 🏞️ actually one of the most amazing places. It must be so great to live there. And also you have guaranteed better weather than here And great with a lot of ceramic artists would love to come and experience this 😂 Skagen where I live are also known for its famous artists. Painting artists from the past centuries. I think 🤔 I’m going to talk about that in one of my next videos. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🥰
Beautiful 🩵💙🌊
Thank you 🙌

I love the way you push the boundaries. Your creativity is shining through. I can't wait to see the wave piece!
@patspitpage ❤❤thank You so much The wave piece Will be made tomorrow and I hope you enjoy it as well…I just have to edit the video also…so in a few days time 🕰️👌
Very Nice 😍. May I ask a question ?What are the white pellets between the pot and its lid and where can you get them? THANKS
Hi @nathalierichir9622 thank you 🙏 very much 😄 The small pellets I use between the pot and the lid are homemade. I hav just made them for this purpose to keep the lid from sticking to the pot during the firing 😁I will show them to you closely in my next video that probably will be released tomorrow 😀thanks for asking 🥰
@@Skagenclay it's very nice to help us by explaining how to make the little pellets, I'm looking forward to seeing the video 🥰
I really enjoyed your video! I’ve been making slab built pottery and sculptures for over 30 years and I never thought of using sand as a “base” for holding bowls while working on them. Very creative! Not that it matters, but just FYI: the metal tool is called a rib and they are also made with wood and silicone and come in many curved shapes. Your “stick” is called a needle tool. But you communicated beautifully sans the “proper terms!” Well done, you! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hi @surfergypsy thanks so much for your message 👍🙏I really appreciate your support and also that you have given me the proper names of the tools, thank you 🙏 😃😁👍I will remember that for the next time😀👍
Congratulations! And thank you for sharing.
@bbcerise thanks so much for your message 🥳👍🍀best wishes

I love this Gertie. Thank you so much for sharing your process and all the interim steps. The pot and lid are beautiful. Carolann
Hi Carolann Thanks so much for your reply, that means so much to me 😀👍 Right now I’m working on a video about how to prepare for the first exhibition, so stay tuned 😀👍🫶
How was it taking the rock out ? How long did you leave it in the cup before removing ? It’s very lovely and wabi sabi which I really enjoy.
Hi I just pulled the stone out, because of the plastic it was easy to remove the stone. I always wait until the clay is leather dry, so dry that it keeps the form, jet still so soft that I can remove it without it is breaking. For this cup it was on the rock for 1 day 😀 Always just check the clay because it’s also depends on the humidity of the air 😀🥰
Really beautiful and so organic I love this very much 🤎
Thank You so very much 🥰
It is wanderful. Are they regolar glaze?
Hey there thank you for reaching out 😄🙏I’m using underglaze on the outside of the bowl and regular glazes on the inside of the bowl 😀

You are very fun. I love your project! That "metal Thing"...I call it "the flexible metal rib of death" (I heard another potter call it that and feel it is very appropriate) because it can slice your fingers as well as slice clay...and if you aren't very careful with it, it can kill your pottery project with one little slip. Thank you for sharing this project.
Hi @TariHuffaker thanks so much for your message 🥰and ohh yeah a great name for the metal thing… totally agree…have made some “scars” on my clay with that one. And thanks for being here🙏💕🎉🤩
